No. Pelosi will hate this even more. She will live in the dreaded anticipation of having to sit behind him as he speechifies about all the great things that Americans have accomplished over the last two years. She is going to be fit to be tied. ROFLOL

As the Shutdown was going on, Nancy Pelosi asked me to give the State of the Union Address. I agreed. She then changed her mind because of the Shutdown, suggesting a later date. This is her prerogative - I will do the Address when the Shutdown is over. I am not looking for an....

The current situations in Venezuela and Israel are a bit more important than the SOTU. He should concentrate on those, particularly with an interim SecDef (whose name I forgot) in charge of the Pentagon.
Hope he brings up how she pulled the tyrannical act of forcing "affordable Healthcare" against the will of the majority of people, causing healthcare costs to triple.

No I didn’t, until now. Oh well. He must have his reasons. I suspect he suspects he will win the showdown over the border funding and then use the SOTU to gloat.
He still has plenty of cards to play, another summit with North Korea, and Israeli-Arab peace plans to unveil among other things. He’s gonna have a good case to make in 2020, a la Reagan “you don’t change horses in the middle of the stream”.
Yeah, I know he has lots of cards to play. I don’t think this will end badly for him and I hope that is not wishful thinking. I had visions of a huge Red, White and Blue SOTU delivered at a huge stadium in Texas with nothing but massive amounts of great vibes and people even flooding out into the parking lot. At the peak of it all The Marine Band comes out playing Stars and Stripes Forever and then to close Martina McBride sings God Bless America as an entire wing of Strike Eagles flies over. Just thinking.of it makes me happy.

I never thought he would turn to a big arena for the SOTU. But as I think it over, in some ways waiting for the shutdown to end may be the best play. It shows he is serious (as he has been very careful to do the last few weeks) about negotiating a deal. The ball is in Nancy’s court to come to the table with something. If he went it alone, or even to the Senate, the optics might not work in his favor. You can’t say “the SOTU is strong” when the government is shut down. The pressure is on the Speaker to resolve this, and then he gets to gloat about his win without any clouds hanging over the speech.
After the SOTU, he can go do an arena tour :-)

But as with all past Trump rallies, what will they do to accommodate the huge overflow crowd waiting a day or more to see him?
Also, if Pelosi wants to get in security will tell her “back of the line, lady, like everybody else.”
