That really is a shame. My kids all belonged to the Cub Scouts, although even way back then the Boy Scout organization was starting to deteriorate.
One of my boys became a Scout Master, and my wife and I attended the Eagle Scout ceremonies of his two sons. They had a connection with local High Anglican Church, and a Catholic Church, and still preserved the original values. But I’m afraid it will all go down the drain. It’s been coming on for a long time, although they managed to keep their troop in line much longer than most.
They are having a rough time time because one man convinced their board to allow openly gay men into the organization... the Mormons took their 600K+ members and walked away...
If you read the article though you’d have no idea that was why the Mormons left... lawsuits from homosexual pedophiles in the 70s aren’t what has bankrupted them... forcing homosexuality into children is.0
If you introduce a bunch of screwball PC values into a traditional values organization disaster is what happens.
Sad to say but good riddance to them.

What’s so hard to understand?
A girl we know was heavily recruiting my daughter for her troop. Which one? The local Boy Scout Troop XXX-G. The G being the girls’ troop they’re trying to set up.
I asked about the rules, since she’d a teen. They’ve apparently extended the time you have to earn Eagle to essentially age 20 if you’re signing up at 15-17. And they are actively recruiting boys and girls 15-17 to try to add more paying members.
I spent many years in the BSA. As a Scout in the 40’s and making Eagle. Then I served in various leadership positions including Scoutmaster in several locations. It is the best and most effective organization for teaching boys self-sufficiency and responsibility ever devised. It is a crying shame that modern leadership ruined the program by pursuing liberal social programs. May God have mercy on their souls.
