The bottom line is that Russia wants Ukraine back.

No, it is an internal water of Ukraine and Russia due to a 2003 treaty. AFAIK, those two are the only ones that can enter without permission.
And when Ukraine threatened to blow up the new bridge, there is a lot of tension now that lead to this.

But in any case, no NATO ships will be going in there.

“I for one am looking forward to rapprochement with Russia in the spring.”

Tymoshenko is in the lead last I heard. She is another hardliner, and one of the original kleptocrats in Ukraine. God only knows what she will do.

Looking at where martial law is in effect, there's a chance that places where Kiev has been able to keep the anger down to a dull roar may start to have protests some of which could turn violent given the way Kiev handles such things.

I hope it goes as smoothly as simply replacing Porkychancre but there's a chance that with winter here and so many people unable to pay to heat their homes and apartments it could get worse before it gets better.

His going would be the first step in fixing things in Ukraine as long as the Deep State creeps can't manage to stick another ringer in leading to Ukraine getting another fix of US cash to get them through another winter and not much else.

Regards

“The bottom line is that Russia wants Ukraine back.”

That wasn’t the case until the coup, not a move was made to make hat happen. Before that they wanted 2 things, to have Ukraine not steal gas in pipeline transit...and for Ukraine not to become a NATO member.
They never wanted it back, it’s so corrupt even Russia sees them as “corrupt”.
But they were never going to sit still for NATO formations on the border 350 miles from Moscow, and 250 from Volgograd, and Sevastopol being a US Navy base.

But it was a nice neocon dream.

Thank you for posting! Some inconvenient facts manage to get the Putin fanboys on these boards all revved up.

Better than being a McCain/ Neuland /Obama/Biden/Merkel fan. You are advocating their policy.

So Putin decided to show Ukraine his belief in slavic brotherhood by invading Ukraine and waging a four year war with them? All it did was unite Ukraine in hatred of Putin. Ukraine will inevitably join NATO or get nukes. Its the only defense against Russia.

Ukraine not to become a NATO member

"I stand with Poland."

Folks here will remember you said that and expect you to post accordingly when Poland and Ukraine clash.

I'm thinking, we need a big ol military base right on the Russian border in Ukraine.

Yeah, first a coup that overthrows a legally elected government and now martial law, those are some real freedoms.

If Poroshenko is still in charge, I would support Poland in such a clash.

She is another hardliner, and one of the original kleptocrats in Ukraine.

She's the Gas Princess, back for an encore performance.

Putin knows and respects her, the Euros like her and if she hasn't lost her form she'll easily flatter Trump.

An experienced hand like hers is exactly whats needed change the ambiance in Ukraine.

Some variant of Minsk-2 will be implemented, economic deals will get done, life will improve....and soon everyone will blame the fat old Candy King for being a horrible leader.

Coming soon...

Her clique knew the difference between shearing the sheep and slaughtering them. Porkychancre and his clique are like the Chinese, grab with both hands today and to Hell with tomorrow.

Yeah, first a coup that overthrows a legally elected government and now martial law, those are some real freedoms.

Not to mention waging war on a significant portion of the population and creating hundreds of thousands of refugees.

If Ukraine wants to remain a sovereign nation it better get its act together quickly.
