If you go to the video and backup then you can see it. It is not much to look at. The lens cap was still on the camera. The cap must be semi clear colored, but it still looks like a bunch of dust specks.

This was an entirely different landing procedure. Remember that in the past they used a bouncy ball approach. I do not believe that they have ever done a rocket powered touch down on Mars prior to this.

Viking 1 and 2 landed on Mars in the ‘70s using rocket propulsion.
They were the first US Craft to land on Mars.
