Odd how purported conservatives in this day and time attempt to cover their PC indoctrination by just more loudly insisting upon a false narrative history. The facts remain: the Union fought to prevent slave states from leaving the Union, there can be no debate regardless of where or to whom your allegiances belong. The Union had four slave states: Delaware, Maryland, Kentucky and Missouri. The Union did not bother to amend the constitution to outlaw slavery while all those problematic slave states were in rebellion, far from it; the constitution was not amended to outlaw slavery until after the Civil War had ended. No one can dispute these facts, no matter what sort of weird leftist labels you try to apply, to those who insist upon historical accuracy.

It’s silly to feel intimidated by the progressive “scholars.” First and foremost, they’re not all that intelligent. I don’t mind saying this, mostly because their claim of intelligence is one of their most used weapons against truth and justice.

But how can they be intelligent, given the stupidity of progressivism?

Hmmm?

You have a strong desire to protect the lie we’ve been fed by the progressives.

Lincoln was a progressive. He was backed by New York progressives. I have no desire to preserve the lies we have been led to believe about Lincoln and what he did.

Big city Liberals in New York and Washington DC launched a war against the South because the South was going to stop allowing their trade with Europe to be funneled through the pockets of the powerful in New York and Washington DC.

Lincoln didn't start the war to stop slavery. He started the war to prevent the South from acquiring economic control over their own industries, and to stop them from competing with his big monied backers in the Northeast.

The era of Crony Capitalist control of Washington DC began with the Lincoln Presidency, and has continued ever since. Today we call it "the establishment."

Odd how people can come to a conservative website and defend Urban Progressive Liberals in cahoots with billionaire corporations who use government to funnel money into their pockets, and who use the powers of government to impose further tyrannical controls on other people who are actually paying the bills.

And then side with them when these same liberals start the bloodiest war in American history to protect the money streams for their corporate buddies back in New York.

And the amendments were done by bribery and threats in the north, and by disenfranchings all the existing citizens of Southern states, as well as threatening them with guns and confiscations.

Our amendment process was not intended to allow coercion of people to force them to vote like puppets of their masters in Washington DC.

Without this corruption of the amendment process, none of the Southern states would have voted for any of those amendments, and those amendments would not have passed.

We pretend they are legitimate, but no honest person would recognize the process that passed them as legitimate.

As valid of a rebuttal as “take your meds.” Nothing but a deflection because you cannot speak to the point.

The democrat party was and still is the party of slavery. Their economy was slavery. Slavery defined the economy.

Slavery was what the democrats in the south and in the north wanted to protect.

Underlying all of this is the agenda to destroy this country. Where you stand on that question is what matters.

The anti-Americans of then and now build the false narrative in the smaller details, such as the details you post. Ultimately, these details are unimportant to the larger narrative.

The democrat party was and is the party of slavery.

It wasn’t a lie. I posted his exact words. HE proved my point, and it simply isn’t disputable.

you’re just delusional.

but the question was: where were you people when (I just used him as an example) todd akin said something infinitely more stupid? the answer is, “ignoring it”.

hypocrites.

So threatening to take your property without compensation is not instigation?

Slavery although fading was a fixture of humanity still

That whole thing could have been avoided

But look at today

The division is still here

Northerners are busybodies and tend to be liberals in their era

Native southerners prefer to be left alone and love out regional and national history and heritage

Most liberals up north think we’re nazis and the nation as a whole was founded in injustice

Yes as much as it pains the Dinesh brigade here abolitionists were the liberal of their day

These threads tell me two things

Most Freepers don’t know Dixie

And they think they are morally superior

So why are so many streaming in here and bringing their liberal crap with them

The south will turn more and more because of Yankees and illegals

And you’re worried about a stupid cap

Espy will not win Chicken Little trust me

How is it even possible to equate correctly identifying CHS as an idiot...with being a racist, anti-southern asshole to be relegated to wardaddy’s list?

Yeah, put me on it if that’s what makes you feel good. Because it’s not worth the time of day to even figure out what it is.

The democrat party was and still is the party of slavery. Their economy was slavery. Slavery defined the economy.

The Union leadership was just fine with the slavery based economy of the South. It was paying 75-85% of all the bills for the Federal government, and so as long as they controlled the money, they wanted those slave states producing that money.

Slavery was what the democrats in the south and in the north wanted to protect.

And the money produced by those slaves coming into the pockets of the New York and Washington DC cronies is what the Republicans wanted to protect. Here is a map of the trade revenues to the Federal government. Even though the vast majority of money was collected in New York, the import trade was paid for by about 75-85% of slave produced exports.

See that pile of money on New York? That represented 200 million dollars per year in slave produced trade, and New York and Washington DC both wanted that money to keep flowing into New York and Washington DC.

People have been misled. The war was not about slavery. It was about who was going to control the money that slaves produced. If the war had ended quickly, Washington DC and New York would have kept that slave money coming into the country.

People don't understand what happened because they've been fed bullsh*t about "slavery" for the last 170 years. It was about money. Nobody cared about the slaves until they figured out a way to get political power from them.

These Dinesh knee pads will never admit that

Lincoln corresponded with Marx.....no way they say

Even media in the day referred to southern states right fire breathers as conservatives

Same as Malcom X a century later referred to Dixiecrats as white conservatives

Parties morph

This notion it’s static is just poppycock

I know the usual south hating posse is here and pinged up from their cubicles

But regular Freepers who think crowing about who’s most racist are damned idiots

It won’t win one frigging black vote and will alienate the most conservative demographic in the nation

Southern born whites

But still they do it

Besides sex and food I think the need to feel morally superior is maybe the third human need ....for the weak minded

It’s what makes progressivism so appealing to the so many

Cheap righteousness and virtue
