Right. And why would Britain decide that Germany having territory on the Channel would be a cassus belli? Why side with Russia just a few decades after WW0 (the Crimean War)? Why did Russia attack Austria-Hungary?

Britain jumped in against Germany because Germany was warring with Britain’s ally, France. They knew that Belgium was just a stepping stone, one that they couldn’t allow.

Russia got involved in support of Serbia, Germany got involved because of Russia, France got involved because of Germany, The U.K. got involved because of France and Germany; the U.S. got involved because of the U.K. None of it was anyone’s business.

I think the U.S. got involved because the Japanese bombed the hell out of Pearl Harbor....

I am just waiting for the Great European Unification War.
I wonder how far east and west that “unification” will run?

In the meantime, we need to get our troops OUT of Europe, leave NATO, void any mutual defense treaties with the Euroweenies, and stock up on popcorn.

United Europe is just European countries surrendering to Germany.

And, shortly after Pearl Harbor, the Germans declared war on the US. If he hadn’t done that, FDR might have had an issue on his hands...

Of course, we’d been waging war against the Germans in the Atlantic since late 1940 or so.

Although the war began with Nazi Germany’s attack on Poland in September 1939, the United States did not enter the war until after the Japanese bombed the American fleet in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941.

Germany and Italy declared war on the United States three days later. The first planned offensive action by the United States in World War II came in January 1942 when the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise attacked Japanese bases in the Marshall Islands.

To be clear: Germans on the south of the Channel could be dangerous for the U.K., but more dangerous that declaring war on Germany, the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Italy? Let’s say the Germans conquer France AND Belgium. So what? They’d force a Russian retreat? Hell, I think the biggest danger would be that they’d create internal political pressure for the U.K. to align themselves with the Germans.

So the British fought on the side of the Czarist Russians, French anti-clericalists and Serbian anarchists. But at least they all hated Italy and the Catholic Austro-Hungarians empire.

True, but the US didn’t declare war on Germany and Italy until after they first declared war on us (much to FDR’s relief!). If they had not done so, FDR would have had a situation on his hands. Especially since he’d been angling to get into the European war for some thime.

For instance, prior to the declaration of war, we had been supplying the UK, France, etc., with arms and supplies, and even escorting the ships halfway across the Atlantic. On April 10, 1941 the USS Niblack (DD-424) depth charged a German submarine off of Iceland. U-boats also sank the USS Reuben James and the These were all acts of war by an ostensibly ‘neutral’ power. And on September 11, 1941, FDR essentially declared war on the German navy with his “shoot on sight” order.

WW 1, as you correctly stated, was caused by a global cabal-I.E. monarchy. A Monarchy is nothing more than a Oligarchy.

The same as a socialist form of government.

If I were the POTUS, I would announce that the USA will withdraw from NATO and get all its bases out of Germany, etc, and move them to the Old East Prussian area of Poland.

You need to read your history. Britain was unprepared for the war, but had to jump in to maintain the neutrality of the channel coast.

Hitler declared war on the US in the hopes the Japanese would help him out against the Soviets.

The Japs weren’t stupid. They had their hands full without having to deal with the Russians.

Yet another ‘European ally’ calling the US President a threat. Time to roll up our bases, bring troops and equipment home before they start isolating, holding/arresting US citizens as a threat to their union. Look at Turkey, a NATO ally when they got weird, Erdogan had police/military seal off the US airbase (with nukes) and essentially under lockdown. Now picture that across Europe. Would be the Iranian hostage crisis times a thousand. Need to be pre emptive and start soon before they lock the base gates.
