I rescued a cat that looked exactly like this one. In 2004 I had to have her euthanized after 14 years. I had her cremated and still have her ashes.

I was living in Georgia at the time and wanted to have “remains” buried in Texas. I’ve been back in Texas since 2005. Guess it’s time I buried her and her dog buddy. (I had him created, too, for the same reason.)

Was calling her “Blacks racist? I called her white sister “Whites”.

I have seen cats forget people in short order. I have seen them forget who cared and provided for them when they were young and before they found another home.

Much more likely she found another black kitty and wants to think it's hers.

The cats you’ve seen do this don’t speak for all cats. They can have memories and affection every bit as strong as some dogs.

"cats (and dogs) remember people who are good to them (and people who are bad to them)"

If you lock your wife and your dog in the trunk of your car and come back three hours later, one of them will be happy to see you again.

Thanks for posting this-here on this road, there are a few properties on the river owned by people in cities-they are only there in Summer/on holidays, etc, but they often bring or adopt a cat or small dog as a pet-only to abandon it when they leave for Winter, expecting the animal to survive on its own until they return. But once that pet wanders onto a permanent resident’s place, it gets fed, adopted and taken in.

I have been feeding a pregnant cat for a couple of weeks-a pretty gray tabby abandoned by summer people up the road who left for the Winter-I took her to the vet right after work today-she has no chip to prove she is theirs-so she now joins my two spoiled shelter cats indoors-and that owner will not see her again. Her kittens will be totally people-oriented and used to being handled by humans-so easy to get adopted out here in BFE as housepets and good mousers.

It is nice to see an article like this on the day I took in an abandoned pet...

Unlike a dog which never forgets.

Their sense of time makes for some comical moments, though. I once exited the house, only to remember I had left my sunglasses behind. So I exited through the back door and immediately walked to the front door where my dogs acted as if they hadn't seen me in months.

Is there a kitty ping list? Cause I’d love to be on one.
;^ ) I LOVE cats so much! They are super intelligent especially Norwegian Forest cats that many people refer to more as dogs in personality. Incredible creatures! I’ve had many rescues over the years but at this point I’m devoted to my NFO’s.

If anyone is on Instagram and interested I post my cats @felineforests.

If anyone knows of a cat list I’d be game.

I once saw an old thread here, very old I believe, actually dedicated to Norwegians. I’d post pictures but I don’t know the html. Maybe I should practice and test it.

Totally identify w/ that post. My 10 year old Great Dane has done the same thing with me. I forget something , go around the back + open the garage + there he is still at the front door. Lol. I take him to work now daily. Thankfully I’m in a position to do so.

Thank you-one of my cats was a shelter kitten, the other was a feral cat picked up by a shelter employee-I have always gotten my cats from a shelter or taken in an obviously abandoned one, like this little tabby. Shelter cats are affectionate pets...

I think they’re mildly telepathic. I have had cats waiting for me by the window every day when I come home. At the very least they have a acute sense of time.
