Socialism could never be implemented (assuming it is not already fully in force behind the scenes) during normal times. There are too many gun owning, property owning, freedom loving Americans to ever voluntarily submit to this.

However, the stage has been set for a takeover. What if a collapse to the economic structure occurred rendering an overwhelming majority of Americans destitute? Student loan debters alone comprise a significant portion of Americans. Socialists are lazy, but not dumb. They know it takes a crisis to seize power (e.g. Germany, Russia, etc.) This does not include mortgage debters, credit card debters, etc. If a liberal government offered bailouts to people providing they swear off gun ownership, or perform the duty of confiscating guns...who knows what would happen...

We need to stop using the term capitalism and use “free markets” instead. What we support is freedom.

“When young people come to see how their freedoms will be taken away, they might change their view of it.”

Hmmm, seems to an old fogey like me that most of the young people’s freedom was long gone before they were born. But maybe I’m wrong, maybe Boone and Crockett got permits from the government before they built a log cabin or killed a deer for supper. My memory is not so good anymore. Maybe some county official told ol’ Dan or Davy that they could not have two cabins using water from the same well on their land so if a family member wanted to live on the same property in a separate dwelling maybe they got a permit to build another cabin and a permit to dig another well, could be I reckon, I just don’t know. Maybe Americans always had to have permission from a bureaucrat for every move they made.

Well, I agree with you wholeheartedly.

That said, freedom is relative and these young folks nowadays will be faced with the loss of freedoms that are relative to them.

I don't think that they realize that under Marxism, they will be placed in jobs NOT of their choosing and will work basically as slaves. And they will live in state owned housing which stacks family members one on top of another.

I remember the old joke about communism (I paraphrase):

The phone rings in Stan's crowded apartment.

Stan answers and a woman on the other end of the line says, "you have finally qualified for an automobile. It will be delivered to your apartment building in 10 years on August 1st. We can deliver it in the morning at 10:00 or in the afternoon at 3:00. Which would you prefer?"

Stan asks the woman if she can hold on a sec while he reaches for his 2028 calendar and flips to August 1.

Back on the phone, Stan tells the woman, "Better make it in the afternoon, the plumber is coming in the morning."
