This man sounds tooooo good to be true. He would put the democrats in a true dilemma because to veto his would be to veto a very hard working ethnic group.
Amul Thapar gets my vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, based on liberals own criteria, it is bigoted to criticize anyone of a recognized minority or grievance group. So based on their own criteria, criticism of this judge would be anti-Indian bigotry.
This is a great article.
His ethnicity would matter for nothing to the Dems. Just ask Clarence Thomas about that, and that was long ago.
I think he’s Trump’s pick.
poor Joe Biden he wouldn’t be able to go to a 7-11, a Dunkin Donuts or the Supreme court without hearing a “slight indian accent”

Let's hope he gets three or four more vacancies to fill before his two terms are up. I fully expect Clarence Thomas will retire halfway through Trump's second term.
I think he should be saved for when Ginsburg goes. That’s where the real fight is going to be. If anyone thinks they are going crazy over Kennedy being replaced, they just need to wait and see what happens when Trump gets to replace a leftie on the Court. Then when they inevitably, viciously attack Thapar, we can counter-attack them for opposing the first Asian on the Court. Right now, though, Trump should be able to get someone through without too much difficulty (I hope at least).
I think he’ll be the one. Trump loves to misdirect the MSM before he lands a blow.
McConnell’s pick, no thanks.
President Trump could nominate Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, or Martin Luther King, and the left would do everything in their power to destroy them.
Yep, just what we need, another “firstie” so we can check ff another box...
Anyone remember Sandy Day O’Connor and what a monstrous disappointment SHE turned out to be?
I don’t know him, but the fact people call him an “originalist” is very positive.
I don’t like people who are described as “Catholic,” “Progressive” or “Conservative” or by another label, or those who are identified on one issue
Follow the Constitution, as written. That all that’s needed.

I want a clear public commitment that he will stop abortion on demand!! I dont see that.
While I would need to review some of his appellate decisions to get a sense of his quality of mind, he sounds eminently qualified.
Any info about his views on immigration, asylum and refugees, and issues of national sovereinty in general?
Sounds like a good pick but I don’t like identity politics no matter who’s pushing it.
I like what I read about Thapar.
Trump would be wise to appoint the first Asian to the court and save the female pick should RBG expire.
Imagine a SCOTUS with a conservative asian, black, hispanic and woman.....all appointed by Trump
” ... can again make history by choosing Judge Amul Thapar of Kentucky to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy. Thapar, the son of Indian immigrants who came to America legally .... “
NO!!!!
Enough damn identity politics! This “oooh! Trump can MAKE HISTORY by appointing some minority! Isn’t that SPECIAL?!” crap should NEVER be heard OR tolerated from someone ostensibly on our side.
The person should be nominated who’s the BEST person. I don’t care where their parents are from or the color of their skin or what parts they have between their legs (as long as they use them as intended - no more perverts, please).
I like the political strategizing. We don’t do that often enough. Yes, this fellow would seem to be a magic bullet for confirmation. :)
