No, you didn’t say earlier that it was offensive, you said it was RACIST! I gave you the definition of racism earlier and taking offense is relative. I notice that you didn’t ask Jim Robinson to pull the posts of pics of DJT and an orangutan.

The only way that her joke can be considered racist is if there are people who honestly believe that the black race has not evolved as much as the rest of humanity. I don’t share that belief.

It is offensive for anyone to be compared to a monkey if they’re thin skinned enough to be offended. I don’t see what race has to do with it.

The movie Planet of the Apes had to do with humans blowing up the earth with a nuclear holocaust, and causing a future where they were no longer the dominant species on the planet.

I know that Trump, Obama, Bush Jr. and Gerald Ford have all been compared to apes or monkeys - and there were others I’m sure.

When you compare someone to an ape the implication is that you think they are stupid or low class, lacking in manners, perhaps primative - none of which are insults that apply to one race more than another.

I was called monkey shine by my parents for the first 10 years of my life. Bush was called a chimp, Trump was called an orangutan. I’m sure if I wanted to spend time I could find others. Orly Ortiz was pictured with a crazy bird picture. Joe Scarborough was shown with beeker I’m sure I have seen pics of white women along side Miss Piggy.

Here is the thing, you seem to think that this is the only one that is racist.

Well, I don’t think that kind of so-called humor is funny either, regardless of who it’s directed at, so we agree there.

But I’m tired of the race card being over-played by the Left with regard to blacks. All ethnicities get nasty comments and are the brunt of unkind jokes. It’s not equal, some get it worse than others. Some awful things happened to blacks in the past, including slavery.

But slavery is not limitted to blacks and if you go back far enough we’ve all had more ancestors that were slaves than that were slave owners.

The left is trying to make everything into a racial issue to justify their wealth redistribution programs - programs that are pushed in the name of social justice but are really to line their pockets.

I think we’d all get along fine if the Left wasn’t always stirring up trouble for political leverage.

The odd thing is that in many ways this whole deal is a huge error for the Left. It will be fun to watch it play out. The show they cancelled was notable for its instant success that came by actually reaching out to middle America. It was unexpected, and Rosanne had to be “de-platformed.” This is because Rosanne was making supporting Trump fashionable. (Kanye)

Now Rosanne seems like a huge dummy, but perhaps not so much. The writers of her show were doing what they do, using it as an SJW conduit to harangue Trump supporters who would tune in to support the show. But, instead, they made her a Martyr and left the initial success of the show as a datapoint without the inevitable collapse that comes from what those writers were doing.. (ala S0LO).

Rosanne is an outrage player. they can’t take away the success of the show as it premiered, but they could have killed it by making folks sick of it.. and they were busy doing that.. and now.. oops.. they killed it while it was popular for a financial loss. ABC will bear this pain. They will bear it more as people process what actually happened as they are. Rosanne came out today and tweaked the bear’s nose, pointing out who George Soros is.. right in the core of this burning spotlight.

I do think that Roseanne signed up to do half a season...a farewell tour perhaps (same for John Goodman). I think she was shocked that she picked right back up and by the second episode....they were locked in as one of the top five shows on TV.

But like you said...the SJW writers were in the mix...all hired by Sara Gilbert. She was the producer and running this show, not Roseanne. A vast amount of the show was geared toward SJW topics. Then about a month ago, as the episodes were wrapping up...Sara told news journalists that ‘Trump’ would not be discussed or uttered in the 2019 season, period.

I think Roseanne sat there with a problem. She couldn’t argue with Sara and achieve anything. Sara already had an inside deal with the network. So she thought about who needed to fire her and the abc chief came up...with ties to Obama’s wife and the Persian. It was pretty simple and blaming ambien worked well.

But this talk of the past 48 hours...creating a new show called ‘Jackie’ and taking all the characters into that show....then to say in episode one that Roseanne died in some unfortunate accident. Talk is that Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf, and John Goodman would make $4 million each for a season (gossip I suspect).

I don’t think that Goodman has any interest in the deal, and he was there for strictly a half-season deal.

Here’s the thing....if you ran a stupid show like this (minus Roseanne), then you come to episode one where everyone has fake tears and talk about the wonderful mother....when every single one of them bad-mouthed Roseanne (except Goodman).

I suspect that Roseanne has a deal lined up and ready with Fox....probably some piece about a woman who has died....gone to heaven and found that God has blocked off the Gate and sent her back into someone else’s shoes...maybe even the mother of five black kids who need character-building. That kind of move by Roseanne would clobber the Sara Gilbert project and tumble them way down on the viewer list.

On a final note....I still wonder how Sara Gilbert got enough status to convince the network to do the reboot. Her resume just doesn’t show enough background. And to think she’d be able to manage or supervise Roseanne? No, that won’t happen.

Good stuff. It was going to be killed anyway. This way Roseanne comes away as a martyr, and if they go forward with that horror without her.. OMG. That will stink and die a quick death. As if, as if.. anyone would watch that.

Nevertheless, Roseanne may indeed attempt to take a tack like Milo, instead.. if she can stand it up again, there is very little left to throw at her. The people who hated Reagan and said the vilest things ended up not being able to do anything when his messes really started piling up, calling him Teflon. This is now known as inoculation.

This is what they have done for Trump just the same. Its not working any more.
