More pathetic sloppy logic dressed up as a news item. How much does he pay American workers? The answer is $0. He does not hire American workers. He knows $12 is not enough to hire American workers so what is his factual basis for paying the foreigners $12 if he is required to pay them the same rate.
Around here factory works is at $15 with benefits and we still cannot find drug free, literate, and dependable workers. Rule of thumb is you can get 2 of 3 of those requirements.
I understand the problem. Landscaping customers will cutback on landscaping if it gets too expensive. I pay the neighbor kid $40 for 3/4 of an acre. Takes him 2 hrs using my equipment. If he ask for more The wife will make me do it.

Exactly. That’s how its supposed to work. Tighten the border and you don’t have to worry so much about minimum wage... the minimum wage takes care of itself.
The crux of this guy’s problem is that he is paying $12/hr for jobs that only exist for a few months of the year. That’s a great wage for Guatemalans, who can cruise for the rest of the year, but worthless for the average American. College kids building pools were getting paid $15 an hour 30 years ago. His wage rates are a joke. $12/hr today was $5.64/hr in 1988.

For years they had the Guats come in for the summer to do the mowing/weedwacking but around 10 years ago the management put a stop to it.....somehow they survived and are still winning the horticulture awards...
