Their brand is about to undergo a transformation, in some locations more so than others. As soon as the schizophrenic street derelicts and rowdy hoodrats realize that they can encamp without repercussions there's gonna be a whole new atmosphere experience for (paying) customers.

Apparently the two males entered the Starbucks, waiting for a third party. They were there for an extended period of time, used the restroom etc. The Manager on Duty asked them to make a purchase or to exit the premises, they refused to do either. She then apparently made a 2nd request and they refused again. She then contacted Philadelphia PD through the 911 system and responding officers arrived, and themselves asked the individuals to leave, they refused and were arrested for trespassing. It’s a pretty cut and dry deal.

Not according to my two black co-workers, who are convinced beyond any doubt this was raciss!

I think the manager’s thought process was as follows: she was afraid of these two black men and didn’t want to directly say to them they’re kicked out of the store. She approached them to hint that they need to buy something, but her indirect advice wasn’t heeded — so she called the police to avoid having to confront them without backup.

Maybe that does show her racial bias, but hey, it’s Philly, “don’t make the black people angry” is a survival tactic.

Entirely possible. But... when you say "sounds like" do you mean that is what you read in an article or do you mean that is what you imagine happened ?
