If it was 4% of the total population it would be 8% of the men
= = =
Dont think so.
100 women, 100 men. 4% of 200 die or 8 men.
* * * *
4% of the total population is 4% of the men and 4% of the women.
That’s 4 women and 4 men.
Unless you mean 4% of the total population died and they were all men. Then 8% of the men died.
4 in 10 millennials don’t even know there was such a thing as WW2.
They are more are aware of that than, say, the Russians under Stalin, or the Chinese under Mao, or the Armenians under Pasha.
Communists and Mohammedans are not to be demonized in politically-perverted America.
There have been many genocides in the 20th Century besides the Holocaust, and there were many victims of the Holocaust besides Jews.
Agreed. There are many conservative women, but as a group they vote much farther left than men.
Did he know who “Otis Day and the Knights” were (from “Animal House”)?
Apparently a recent movie transformed Nat Turner into a “preacher”; I learned about him decades ago, but they hadn’t added that embellishment yet...
I don’t believe even the British government disputes that anymore; in 2008 the Daily Mail reported on weapons found on board by divers. German embassy workers carried signs at the pier warning passengers it was carrying weapons into a war zone, and a legitimate military target.
Insurance companies have branches and affiliates around the world, so Germany never had a problem identifying the contents of ships they were sinking.
Americans didn’t seem to mind that Britain forbade us to trade with Germany; WTF is that?
WWI was a hoax on the American people, and part II 20 years later was just a byproduct of that hoax. It was so underhanded two “allies” from part I changed sides and fought for the Axis in part II.
“Unless you mean 4% of the total population died and they were all men. Then 8% of the men died.”
The poster quoting 4% was referring to total population.
More of these ignorant kids know Thomas Jefferson had sex with one of his slaves... liberal teachers’ push liberal line.
Losing 1.7 million men in WWI convinced France that there was no point in fighting WWII. Except for those facing the Soviet Union, there was no reason for other European countries to fight - a few decades later and they were back where they started: a “European co-prosperity sphere” led by Germany (the EU). Sweden, Turkey, Spain, and Ireland apparently realized when a Hitler fights a Stalin, there are no “good guys”, while Finland, the Baltic states, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, and Bulgaria understood that if they didn’t fight the USSR then the atrocities visited on Spain by communists in the 1930s would be coming to their doorsteps as well.
The USSR alone lost 20 million Gentiles when the Axis invaded.
Good point...
I educated my own children about the Holocaust as my father did for me. Why would anyone depend on public schools to teach/ inform students anything of importance regarding history?
It's not that bad.
The study, which was commissioned by The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany and conducted by Schoen Consulting, also found that 11 percent of U.S. adults overall haven't heard of the Holocaust or aren't sure if they did.
Additionally, 41 percent of millennials believe two million Jews or fewer were killed during the Holocaust, the study found. Six million Jews were killed in World War II by Nazi Germany and its accomplices.
Two-thirds of millennials could not identify in the survey what Auschwitz was.
So probably upwards of 80% know who Hitler was.
They're not so clear about numbers and place names.
Heck, most blacks don't even know who Miles Davis was.
You nailed it on the head. Parents have to be the primary educator of their children, even if they go to public schools.
I always made sure my kids knew history, we’d have long talks about historical events, where I made sure they knew my perspective on them.
Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School is in Broward County. 1/3 of the White students are Jewish.
Actually, 5.5 million is an undercount. 13 to 20 million people were killed in the Holocaust. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/germany/9906771/Nazis-may-have-killed-up-to-20m-claims-shocking-new-Holocaust-study.html
