Re Television: AB you're exactly right. Newton N. Minnow, the new Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) said in 1961:

Keep your eyes glued to that set until the station signs off. I can assure you that what you will observe is a vast wasteland.

You will see a procession of game shows, formula comedies about totally unbelievable families, blood and thunder, mayhem, violence, sadism, murder, western bad men, western good men, private eyes, gangsters, more violence, and cartoons. And endlessly, commercials -- many screaming, cajoling, and offending. And most of all, boredom. True, you'll see a few things you will enjoy. But they will be very, very few. And if you think I exaggerate, I only ask you to try it.

Newton was right then and he's right today. Only today the stations never sign off :) Crap and boring tripe 24/7/365.

For me it was early 1999 during Clinton's bombing of Serbia. I had a somewhat oversimplified view but I knew it was wrong to bomb a country for cracking down on Muslim insurgents, mainly for spite and alleged vengeance since M. Albright hated Serbia and the Serbs were blamed almost exclusively for the ethnic cleansing in the former Yugoslavia. As I say, it was a complicated issue, but the TV presented it as good guys versus Hitler. I was totally disgusted and put the TV on the curb. Soon after that I discovered FR and joined later in the year.

I watch tv more or less to know my enemy. Like yesterday we saw how pissed off F.Chuck was that Trump nailed him big time calling him a sleepy eyed SOB which was right on target.Lately its all glorifying homos both male and female and pushing inter marriages as if they were common place which they are not. Everything that will destroy America is in place on the driveby nets in a never ending fashion. Know your enemy.
