I worked on a huge $8 billion project to build a plant on an island off the east coast of Australia to convert Coal Seam Gas to LNG.

Project was called GLNG and is located near Gladstone, Australia.

Bechtel was the EPC (builder), and they built 2 more plants right next door concurrently, for I assume $8 billion apiece also.

I asked my boss about market volatility re: the price of the LNG and he said “Oh, don’t worry about that, we’ve already sold the first 20 years of gas to the government of south Korea”.

And this was WAY before the plant was near completion.

There was a storage facility there already, we just built a distribution facility to go along with it!
