Sessions is quietly doing his job, building solid cases, not submitting to the pressure to act prematurely, and absorbing vicious criticism “for the team.” Trump is adding his criticism to this diversion scenario that he, the 4-D Chessmaster, devised.

In the meanwhile, Session is cleaning up a lot of lower level drug dealers and pedos, while accumulating evidence against the higher-ups.

It will all become clear at the right time.

I’m sorry but I have to LOL at “building solid cases”. Sessions just proposed ANOTHER new year long internal IG investigation on FISA abuses. That is an in house investigation and NOT a criminal investigation.

He’s giving the Dems EXACTLY what they want to run out the clock on this. Sorry.

Re Page, Strzok, etc., containing them (i.e., firing/demoting them) while leaving them dangle out there for a while insulates Trump from further damage, while having a chance to see whom they contact while still free birds. Even better if you can get them to talk publicly ala Comey and Susan Rice, as that provides the fodder for self-contradictory testimony.

I too feel God’s hand in all this (I won several election day bets, so convinced was I that Trump was an instrument). Thank you for reminding us all of God’s almighty hand.

Your post reminds us that patience is a virtue...and that building an ironclad case takes time.

building an ironclad case takes time.

Hopefully they keep in mind that while they may have as many as seven more years to drain the swamp, they might have only as few as three. Patience and solid play count for nothing once the clock has expired.

In the meantime, I can’t imagine what it must be like for Rod Rosenstein, Strzok, Page and whoever else it was that got demoted to have to go into work everyday where everyone knows you are a weaselly seditious little traitor to your country and the constitution.

What you are describing is your hope. It is contrary to the facts.

The fact is that Rosenstein is the acting AG on all Deep State matters. Rosenstein walks in every morning and holds his chinless head, high. Sessions pats Rosenstein on his slopping shoulders, compliments him and then takes Rosenstein to dinner after a long day of Deep State whitewashing. That is the current state of the DOJ.

-- I stand as one of the last few defenders of the "Sessions 4-D chess" theory. --

No need to go as deep as 4-D chess. The law is what it is. As far as we know, Sessions is following it. We are so used to DOJ/FBI flouting the law that we have come to expect and even demand that.

Precious little "steely eyed study" of the law going on in the world of the commentariat.

-- Now we realize how and why Sessions got such high bi-partisan support during the nomination process. --

I think you have Sessions confused with some other person, at least on the count of bi-partisan support in confirmation.

On the Nomination (Confirmation Jeff Sessions, of Alabama, to be Attorney General)

Straight party line with one exception, 52-47. Manchin voted Aye. Sessions was viciously opposed by the DEMs.

Senate Judiciary Committee approved Sessions 11-9 along party lines

-- As I recall Sessions said that he'd recuse himself 'from the Russian investigation' during his confirmation hearing. --

Set aside the word "Russia," it's in there because you accept the press framing.

Sessions answered to Grassley, during confirmation hearing before the whole Senate, in July, that he would recuse from matters involving crooked Hillary, including the Clinton Foundation. He said at the time he felt that recusal was appropriate because he would not be viewed as unbiased against crooked Hillary.

Sessions recusal from cases involving allegations of wrongdoing by the Trump campaign came later, March IIRC. His recusal from that class of cases is "by the book" DOJ regulation on conflict of interest.

I doubt he foresaw in January, the baseless attack against the Trump campaign would grow into a year long preoccupation, including even the appointment of a Special Counsel.

No offense but there was no bipartisan support on Sessions nomination. I am fairly sure it was 52-47. So one of is either ignorant or lying to make a point.

I am so sick of the idiots making shit up and posting their ignorant wants without any knowledge of the process.

It will take a year or more to start indicting people. The senate and house can have these open grandstanding investigation committees in front of the cameras. The US Attorney General cannot. Especially if he is going after powerful people.

If The US Attorney General goes after a powerful adversary and doesn’t do due diligence the POTUS will get hit at for political attack. Wake up. Or maybe I need to go to sleep.
