Ahhh..you’re an idiot. You have no idea where I am from. That’s not what the name means. If you knew, you’d realize even more that I DO know my history.
Nice job judging you old fool.
The US Miltary doesn’t have to prance around like we are marching through Red Square. If you think that is what a republic is, you are ignorant too.
I think you and others are missing the point of this parade: this is one of the first times in decades where are armed forces would be showcased for the American people. Through many long years we have had to keep in the shadows and apologize for being the 2% who did volunteer to serve and maybe that time is finally over.
You remember when our servicemembers had to report to work in the Pentagon in civvies, just so they wouldn't offend anyone by being in uniform? Good old Carter years, when they cut our operational budgets and acted as though we should be ashamed of being the defenders of our country.
A full-on military parade for our country might get more young people to see who we are and that service can be a point of pride.
I used to hate parades too - waiting interminably for "Pass in Review" but this is something else - a chance to finally show who we are to our own people.
Quit being practical. Without the hardware the political impact is lessened. This is a political in your face event. The payoff is worth every penny.
Absolutely: we’d be SOL without a strong, competent navy.
Always glad to help a fellow Missourian.
They should put a destroyer on rollers and parade it down Pennsylvania Ave. No expense is too much here. I want to see Chissy Mathews crying....
A pint of sweat saves a gallon of blood.
Since you missed the point on this quote, I’ll give you another.
“I’d rather have a good plan today than a perfect plan a week from now.”
In both cases, General Patton was talking about performance. That’s performance under fire which he was constantly preaching to his troops. I’ve known several Patton Boys. They worshiped the ground he walked on.
Spectacular!
Although hauling all the military hardware would be kind of a pain.
..................................................
Look at it this way. Our troops hauled the big guns from Saratoga to Boston a long time ago. They did it with livestock. Can we in the modern age do any less?
So in other words, our fighting men aren’t adequately prepared unless they participate in a parade first?
This is a gag right? I can’t believe you actually believe what you’re typing. But you’re doing a great job. Some people actually think you’re serious!
A sentiment shared by our Republican congress towards spending in general.
Right Dog. What ever. Stick it.
Ignore the twits: I agree with you that a military parade would be a great way of reconnecting our armed forces with the people. We have had over a half century of Leftist attacks on our military members and this a good, conclusive way of showing everyone that our country is proud of the "thin green line" that protects them.
5"/62.
Still winning friends, I see.
Armistice Day / Veterans Day was originally established to commemorate the end of World War I. A war that introduced the mechanized slaughter of men, and killed close to 20 million people in only 4 years. And a war that ultimately settled nothing.
Call me crazy, but celebrating the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I with a display of military might and weaponry seems a bit tacky.
Negativity is the death of the soul!
Thanks for the assist.
I must say, you Sir are a master of rhetoric and debate. “What ever”. “Stick it”. Brilliant. You sure showed him!
I wouldalso like to see the Military schools represented, like VMI and others.
