Nines has the votes on the committee, now the committee will vote to release so that President Trump controls the media cycle for the release. If the committee votes release it is then forwarded to the President with 5 days to object/ block the release. It is vital that Nunes control the vote, it should be well explained that release prior to the Presidents review is a felony.
With control of the release, President Trump will be holding the ‘Trump Card’, and can ensure their will be no spin zone. The American people, unlike Hollywood can definitely handle the truth, those withholding the truth from the American people are about to see how a free people deal with those that undermine our great nation.
Our fellow citizens know right from wrong, if a doctor for the Olympic team gets 170 years, traitors deserve ...........
Along those lines, Trump (and his picks including Sessions) have been extremely careful to stay on the side of the law and Constitution. Not screwing around in some gray area, but staying unquestionably lawful.
I think the idea (inlcuding by some here) that we should fight Obama's banana republic crap with our own banana republic crap is extremely short-sighted. Court cases will probably be needed as you suggest. But whether they are or not, we need to have a clear path back to lawful government and it would be nice if we didn't have to die for that (although we should never rule out that possibility)
Thank you for finding that. And your’re right... DAMN!
They can release it today, so where the Hell is it...
Is this the White House washing their hands of the memo?
If Trump has Constitutional authority to declassify and release the memo, that is the obvious quickest route to release it IF the Whitehouse wants it released.
Why kick it back to the congress?
The memo contains classified information. A Congress critter who leaked information to the public could be censured by the House, and could be attacked in a variety of ways. It is up to the Committee of the whole to vote to declassify and thus make it available to the public. I grant that Democrats have paid little heed to the consequences when they have leaked material, but this report is too explosive for that. Personally, I would like to see it emerge at the end of April or early May as it would then have a real impact on the coming elections. Combined with the IG report (albeit I admit I have little confidence in the IG), Democrats should be fighting for their lives come November.
I know you don’t. Glad you’re not in charge. One minute after the baddies go down, you will need many of those people. Moreover, no one would EVER trust Sessions, Trump, or the DOJ again if they turned their backs on friendly witnesses or outed good, honest foreign agents.
Most of all, though, the main reason these documents have to be gone through with a fine-tooth comb is that there are about 1 million pages. If Schifty and the Ds find just TEN pages that contradict one or two of the main points, they will be able to nullify the entire impact of the Memo in a week. Then all the “release the memo” crap will have been useless.
Fortunately, Sessions and Nunes understand all this.
In 2016, there was no way Trump could have released ANY of this stuff-—even if DOJ had it all-—and expected any of it to go anywhere. Many Rs were still hoping for impeachment, other Rs were keeping their heads down, hoping to ride out a failed presidency.
Our side doesn’t understand that the majority of people in America STILL want to trust their government, still want their institutions to be worthy of support. Revealing corruption is a slow public relations process. And you must have the public supporting it or the legislators won’t, and if they don’t, they will do everything from remove funding to ultimately impeach. No funding, no investigations.
There's an incredible amount of "blind faith" going around about the supposed allegations and general content. In my mind, this is dangerous and could backfire badly if it's all a fabricated political ruse.
Frankly, if it's as damaging to "the system" as they claim, it will probably never see the light of day. Why would corrupt globalists, Dems, and RINO congressmen vote to reveal it? Would they be THAT stupid? Do you think there are enough votes to release it?
Do I have to?
Such is the world and reality today, I go out of my way to avoid reading propaganda and don’t give a free pass to the Amazon Post.
Yeah. I'd prefer to lock all the doors to the FBI building and pump it full of pure nitrogen for about 12 hours. Which would be a lot nicer than what the FBI did to the Branch Davidians.

...the DoJ is trying to keep the memo from the public?
***
I have not seen such an assertion anywhere but in that posters comment.
If the release of the memo would be bad for the left, then the DoJ is trying to keep it from the public.
I guess I'm fighting a losing battle trying to get people to stop conflating "right" with "power", but I'm not ready to give up yet.
We have rights, our government has powers. Therefore, government official exercise their powers in the performance of their duties, they do not exercise their rights.
So, correctly stated, congress has the POWER to declassify the document.
Last night in +/-75 minutes of watching Fox News I saw two lawyers, one reporter/host and one government official use the word "right" when he/she should have used the word "power". Although, to his credit, Alan Dershowitcz did say "power" once, and then "authority" once, before finally resorting to "right" the third time he refereed to a particular situation.
LET’S GO, DEVIN!
Read yesterday somewhere...drudge, here, or Liberty...there WAS an attempt to squelch releasing it by the left...Don’t remember which one...
#ReleaseTheMemo!
It will be released in time. Great Twitter thread made into an easy to read post here: https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/955915110840664064.html
De-classify away, baby!
