Best advice a Yankee gave me there: weigh down the bed, right over the rear axle. After that, always had 8 50 lb. bags of sand over the rear axle. Quit sliding and rode better even in 2X4. Night and day difference!

Used that trick when we lived in Minnesota and had to deal with road conditions all winter , started as early as October - had snow on occasion up until May and lakes were still somewhat frozen even then :):):)

It might be a best seller....’Trump: The Best President of My Lifetime as seen through the eyes of a teen who only had Bush and Obama.’

I used to watch these political shows, but I found I would to get angry and uptight watching them.

I hear ya.

But if anything good happens on these shows, you'll read about it here, and you can then go watch the specific segment on youtube, or read the transcripts as posted on here by Fishtalk.

For real expose' investigative reporting, watch "Full Measure" with Sharyll Atkisson...she's a real gem. You can also go to OANN.com, or get the channel through your cable provider.

It'll still make you mad, but it won't be anger towards the presenter.

LOL at least you have a spring! We go from winter to summer in a matter of a few days every year. Happens in March or April we never know.

Problem is you can’t fish for sailfish there Jeff....

I grew up in SoCal and miss the deep sea fishing. The fishies around here are pretty small:

From Collateral Crimes:

She leaned back against the granite wall and said, “Let’s have fish again tomorrow.”

“Absolutely. I hadn’t eaten fresh trout since …”

“You’ve had it before?”

“Yeah. I used to go fishing with my dad.”

Jesse smiled. “Tell me about your dad.”

“Is that the journalist asking?”

“No. No. Well, yes. But I really am interested. He used to take you fishing?”

“Yeah.”

“Where?”

“All over. The first time I remember was at a place called Laguna Lake in Fullerton. I caught a blue gill about this big.” He held out his hand with his thumb and forefinger stretched apart. “When I got older we used to go to Huntington Beach. Sometimes we’d go surf fishing, but most of the time we’d fish off the pier.”

“Did you ever catch anything?” “Oh, yeah. Mostly sand dabs at the beach. My friend, Michael, caught this huge halibut off the pier. We had to use a gaff on the end of a rope to land it.”

“Did you ever fish anywhere else?”

“We went deep sea fishing a few times. I got seasick but we caught some bonita and barracuda.”

“How about river fishing? Is that where you caught the trout?”

Jonathan fell silent.

Jesse said, “What’s the matter?”

“I was just thinking.”

“About what?”

“River fishing.”

“Which river?”

“The Kern.”

“Did you catch a lot of fish there?”

“A few.”

“Is that where you lost your father?”

Jonathan’s eyes welled up. He said, “Yes.”

Yup. I get my news off the internet at trusted sites. Don’t watch any television news. Perhaps that’s odd, but I feel patronized by the commentators. I think what the mainstream media has perpetrated a crime against Americans by spreading their propaganda.

...in Billings, which is just over 300 miles. One way. Snowy roads standard 4 or 5 months out of the year.

I never realized how cold it got in Billings until a friend from Billings went to Salt Lake City for a few days to warm up.

I think you are right. Priebus was chief of staff. It was a dumb decision by whoever made it. It did a disservice to Trump. It could have been avoided.

The funny thing about vehicles....unless there is a limited slip differential involved, two wheel drive is actually only one-wheel-drive, as the differential allows power to only one wheel at a time. Otherwise, on dry pavement, the "live axle" would hop when turning, and be very hard to steer.

Likewise, a 4WD vehicle is only two-wheel-drive, one front and one rear. Many trucks up here have limited slip differentials in the rear so they essentially have three-wheel-drive.

Many 4X4 competition vehicles have "lockers" or "spools" which defeat or outright eliminate the differential, since they are trying to get maximum power to the ground, and are spinning much of the time anyway.

(See: "CORE" and "Forumla 4X4 Hillclimb" on youtube)

And that's exactly why I coined the term "RATagandists".

President Trump never sat down with author Michael Wolff for an interview as president for his explosive new book about Trump’s campaign and presidency, the White House said Wednesday.

Their only direct interaction was a five- to seven-minute phone call after Trump became president, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters.

See my post #213. They had one phone call of 5-7 minutes after Trump was elected. It had nothing to do with the book according to Sanders.

I get my news off the internet at trusted sites. Don’t watch any television news.

Same here. One reason is I can quickly scan news articles in print but television news is larded up with extraneous nonsense. It wastes my time.

Helpful Hint:

When stuck in the mud/snow, etc., you can "fake" posi-traction by partially applying the parking brake.

Minnesota . . . winter . . . started as early as October . . . up until May

In one of his fictions Garrison Keillor mentioned summer in Minnesota lasting one day -- the Fourth of July.

Jacob Tapper is yet another New York loser schmuck divorcee. This putz is minor league all the way pulling down a measly $300,000 @ CNN. 300k in NY City is like $125K elsewhere and not much to brag about. Jacob prefers to be called Jake. I prefer to call him Jake the Fake.
