“What is truth, if we no longer live in an age of reason? A discomfort exists amongst all. What is true has been abandoned, for what advances the interest of my tribe, or the will of my masters? It is seemingly no longer possible to reason a way forward, but to exert a force of will, to advance ones particular worldview. In this, we Conservatives are at a disadvantage, and in my opinion, will represent our eventual demise.”

Plato's cave is an extraordinary concept, well illustrated. This thread should have at least one example...

Good stuff. A grouping of concrete things (beauty) under abstract terms. Someone could try to decribe what is outside the cave, and it can be rejected based on already perceived beliefs.

“Images shone on a wall (television screens, cell-phone, laptops) portraying what our captors wish for us to believe (is reality). “
All paid for by marketeers.
Who profit from consumption; a culture of consumption.
So that is what this ‘piper who calls the tune’ (our “captors”) presents as “good”.
The mob loves that message and the government loves to please the mob.

It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie; and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State. The Obama regime set the stage for the ultimate suppression of dissent but, I think, was not confident of its ability to do so. Hillary was going to take that extra step. I saw more than one Hillary bot post on a forum that they were looking forward to marching all conservatives into "camps," and I have no doubt that we were heading in that direction.
President Trump's election was a direct response to that threat. Now, I can only hope that he can bring down the foundations of that American totalitarian dictatorship, rather than just being a stumbling block in its inexorable advance.

Someone could try to describe what is outside the cave, and it can be rejected based on already perceived beliefs. That's the point, a generation of Americans have been so thoroughly indoctrinated by academia, the media, progressive advocacy groups when exposed to an alternative realty (truth) they run back into the cave (safe spaces)
Because of the herd mentality where dissent from the progressive ideology brings ridicule, shaming, hate and even violence since they have no values based on solid principals they cower in their ignorance

One could come to the conclusion that the shadows on the wall are just projection from the establishment. That is, we are seeing what the want us to see while the real activity is out of our view. And if we arrive to some truth of our own accord, there is push back against it from those who try and control the message.

...looking forward to marching all conservatives into "camps,"
I am wondering if conservatives will join with those liberals to march conservatives into camps?

Just my opinion, but I think the reason we are seeing all types of leftist being thrown under the bus is to clear the decks since the world found out the leftist true nature: they are corrupt sexual predators not held to accountability.
They have lost all credibility to carry a new message, whatever it might be...
Clear the deck and bring in new players to promote the lies and command and control.
Hillary is not playing along. Her ego is far too large.

President Trump's election was a direct response to that threat. Now, I can only hope that he can bring down the foundations of that American totalitarian dictatorship, rather than just being a stumbling block in its inexorable advance. One of the reasons my wife and I supported Donald Trump's running for President. All the others were sheep, afraid to dissent against the leftist mantra. Trump fights back against the lies.
And such a tidal wave of forces rally against him, for all to see. He's the president, yet the lack of cooperation even within his own political party and within his governmental departments is startling! This has been going on for some decades now, a leftist steering of controlling the people and institutions of our society, which many people have denied is happening. Now it is very visible, as President Trump can't get cooperation from many in government to right this sinking ship. I hope he can expose the ones behind the curtain who are pulling the levers of control over our society, as you say those building the foundations of totalitarian dictatorship.
