Here’s a hint: the desks are NOT too small.

As a 6'2" 260# man who was never under 220# even when in prime fitness, I disagree. I go to events held in college and university classrooms and the f***ing little desks are too small. Obviously whoever's doing the buying doesn't give a crap about it or thinks only little kids will be sitting there. OR maybe they're just buying for "average" forgetting that average is composed from the entire population which includes plenty of folks nowhere near average.

There's a legitimate grievance here, but the administrators won't hear it unless it's phrased in politically correct form.

What’s so maddening is they’re trying to promote “fat” as a normal, acceptable lifestyle - when being “fat” is anything but.

I know, I’ve been battling it all of my life. It is not healthy or desirable (ask my “fat” relatives with diabetes how much fun it is).

LOL, no kidding. I sat in a left-handed desk like that for the first time when I was leaving college - and couldn’t believe the difference.

We lefties need our needs met too!

It isn’t just about being fat and neglected. I’ve found that design of desk darn uncomfortable and confining from the time I was a child, whether at thin or fat stages of my life. Confining design. Who knows? SAT scores might have been higher across the board with more comfortable desks.

Looks like everybody is entitled to a grievance.

When is it the turn of normal people?

I know people want to laugh about this, but it is silly for a business asking for thousands of dollars from customers to then not even provide customers with a choice of desks they can actually fit into.

Desks with tables can be bought that have adjustable table sides, you don’t need that many.

They already went through this years ago for left-handed people.

Actually, there were such desks even when I went to college, back in the 70s, and a good number of them when I went back to college in the early 2000s.

The key is to make sure the right-handed kids don’t take them.

Frankly, in any class that wasn’t crowded, I prefered using a right-handed desk, and pulling an empty desk over to use for writing on.

The new *big* card, “I’m a VICTIM”, is being added to the usual *race*, *ethnicity*, *RoP* and the others.

Still, the vision gives new meaning to BWOC!
