...” The only way to locate and destroy with complete certainty all components of North Korea’s nuclear weapons program is through a ground invasion. That blunt assessment from the Pentagon is in response to a letter from two Democratic congressmen asking about casualty assessments in a conflict with North Korea.”........

Well now oh Fat Boy would LOVE a ground war.....so would the Demorats.....obvious they’re pushing for failure and haven’t a clue what our Military can do.

McCain’s up to his tricks along with his pals again I see!

...and waiting several more years until NK gets hundreds of nukes and perfects it’s rockets, plus gets more time to dig in more deeply, would make the situation so much better.

“the U.S. is evaluating North Korea's ability to target heavily populated areas of South Korea with long-range artillery, rockets and ballistic missiles. He also pointed out that Seoul, the South's capital with a population of 25 million, is just 35 miles from the demilitarized zone”

I've heard this reported years ago. And that they are bio and chemical weapons.

If only we could get China to peacefully overthrow Kim Dum Son and install their own puppet government.

Everyone notes with rising inflection how Soeul is only 35 miles from the DMZ, but nobody mentions that they’ve had the last 65 years to fix that.

Tube Arty cannot hit Seoul, even with RAP (Rocket Assisted Projectile).

Rockets, yep.

My suggested plan is to install a BBQ grilling station every 500 yards along the border.

The problem in Iran is very different. Iranians are well acquainted with Western culture. They are perfectly clear about the oppression they experience at the hands of the Ayatollah and fundamentalist Islam. Their most recent attempt to stand up to this regime was met with silence by our own wannabe ayatollah president. Repression in NK is a thousand times worse.

Just proves my point. If a relatively well informed populace can't be sufficiently motivated to overthrow a murderous, oppressive dictatorship, what chance does a backward, starved people have?

This will not be WW II or the Korean Conflict where plane loads of bombs would be needed for each position.

There are missiles that are now either ready or will be shortly that can glide or maneuver right into the openings. Only the long range arty and rockets would have to be destroyed immediately, so lowering the number of targets dramatically.

Iranians tried overthrowing their government during Obama’s first year. Obama left them twisting in the wind.

A Korea vet I knew recalled an incident from the 70s while he was posted to the DMZ.
A NK officer filed a complaint with the US about what he called “hand held nuclear weapons” on the border.
An investigation turned up a stainless steel Thermos bottle...

Lots going on in Nork land.

According to Japan’s TV Asahi, up to 100 people had been trapped in the tunnels and a further collapse happened during attempts to rescue them, raising the death toll to at least 200.
The incident is believed to have happened on October 10, but another news agency, South Korea’s Yonhap, said it was still unclear when the disaster took place.

I thought the number of artillery pieces on the NK border was 10,000. According to this article it is 13,000.

The ones I have seen in previous articles are in deep revetments and would be difficult to destroy.

Doubt it. The regime is so brutal all citizens are in a constant morbid fear of torture and/or death, so much so that they are paralyzed from doing anything.

They are being watched so closely that there is no way groups of resistance can even begin to form.
