“Jeff and Rosenstein are bff. If Rod gets the ax, Jeff will get the message.”

I’m not so optimistic...Trump should appoint a special counsel comprised of non-swamp members to investigate Hillary and the Obama treason regime. He’ll effectively do an end run around feckless Jeff. It will have to be a BIG counsel ;)

That’s a possibility. Here’s another one. Trump could fire Rosenstein with such scathing criticism that it would induce Sessions to resign. Grassley said he wouldn’t confirm a replacement if Sessions were fired. He could hardly place the same conditions on a freely tendered resignation.

“Grassley said he wouldn’t confirm a replacement if Sessions were fired.”

Really? Someone needs to ask him why. If they’re that recalcitrant in the Senate, Trump’s appointment of an independent special counsel is the way to go. Maybe the only way to go. Sounds like the corrupt-state and fake media want their ‘Saturday night massacre’ scenario with a firing at the DOJ. Absurd.

Grassley wasn’t alone. When Trump tweeted his harsh criticisms of Sessions, the GOP senators were angrier than the Democrats. Most issued a warning of one kind or another. It was obvious by then that Sessions was protecting the swamp, and the swamp responded by covering Sessions’ back.

My only reservation re Trump appointing a Special Counsel is the ‘illegitimate,’ mantra that would ensue. Month after month that’s all we’d hear: bc Trump, not the DOJ, appointed the counsel he/she is illegitimate, biased, and in Trump’s pocket. This is all the press and politicos wouldn’t ever talk about. Trust me, it would get old.

I’m confident Trump is on top of this. He’s a canny street fighter and smarter by far than his detractors. He’ll figure out a way to make it all work. I predict we’ll like the strategy when it unfolds.
