Here’s a documentary about a war fought in Korea against a much poorer China. Very interesting and with real footage in color!

sounds like a microsoft infomercial to scare up government money.....”dear senate, give us unlimitted funding or the Chinese boogieman will get cha”
...and if the Gubmint dont give Microsoft unlimited funding they will send a virus to the govt computers to extort the money....just like they do to our home computers :...”pay us for protection or you get the virus”
Quantum Computing is very arcane stuff. I’m assuming that Quantum Communications is cut from the same cloth.
From my own understanding as a physics PhD, either of these is a chimera. That is because the fundamental laws of uncertainty militate against them. Of course, I’m prepared to argue further, but this should suffice for my current meaning.
If you look at the issues involved, what does a billion dollars have to do with it? Why not say a quadrillion dollars?
“My heart is in the coffin there with Heisenberg” ... so I might say.
Was this claimed? I didn't think so. I thought it was an UNBREAKABLE code that was being claimed.
...others who I know familiar with what they’re doing told me about this capability.
But in the end, does it really matter. Between their spies, our idiots (think equifax), and our Leftists, it’s difficult to imagine China being able to deal with all the data they already have on us, much less more of it.
Well, I finally found a “sane and sober” account of the “Quantum Satellite” which described it as having set a distance record for “remote quantum entanglement”. That is, it produced a correlated pair of “entangled” photons, which are guaranteed to be detected with opposite polarization, each received maybe 100 km apart. The previous record was a kilometer or so.
Also, reading a few lines further, a number of detections were made, and many more were correlated than would be expected by chance, so you know, 60/40, or something.
This makes sense to me. It by no means implies they are on the verge of any kind of operational set-up, the hysterical ( to me ) headlines notwithstanding. Also “to me”, the actual usefulness of this in communications seems a very vague promise, now and for some decades, at least.
I know! ... “That’s what they said about...”
...yea, I’m kind of counting on that being the case...so hopefully you are right!
