Mr. Bannon, it seems clear, does not care about Republicans maintaining their majority in either chamber

All they have to do is do their jobs. Sounds like that's too much to ask. So tough.

Exactly, John didn’t vote for the enemy. And neither did the producers he convinced to go on strike.

You won’t ever be “forced to vote democrat”, it will be a volitional choice, and a choice with consequences. It’s not something Ayn Rand would have advocated, ever.

I’m no fan of most of Ayn Rand’s philosophy. However, I am in huge agreement regarding the looters. I understand the basic need to let a failed system collapse of it’s own weight. And the longer the collapse is prolonged, the more damaging and painful it is. So anything to speed up the process is, in the long run, a good thing.

The republicans have proven that they are the other side of “the looters” coin. I’m no longer playing. They can redeem themselves by repealing Obamacare, but if they coan’t, it proves that they were a false hope and we were being played.

I’m no longer playing. And as with John Galt, I’m doing everything within my power to clear the path for this system to collapse of its own weight. In my case, that means voting for the KNOWN looters rather than the “secret” looters.

Of course, if they repeal Obamacare, nevermind.

The choice is theirs. They must earn my vote. They have the majority. If they can’t pull this off, they are not who you think they are.

I’ve learned with Trump to ignore what politicians say and judge them by what they do. The senate is a sorry lot, on both sides, with a very few exceptions. It will be fun to see the democrats in power as the greatest country this planet has ever known falls from its heights. Poetic justice, as it were...

But like I said, if the R’s can earn my faith by repealing Obamacare, never mind. It’s up to them.

The book is a work of fiction. It only parallels the real world. In the real world, what he did would be, quite literally, impossible. That is why the book made such a terrible movie. The characters are too one dimensional.

It basically outlined what would happen in the real world over a period of decades, rather than a few years. And the people leaving society would not be a conspiracy of producers. Rather, it would be hundreds of thousands of people who just lose their motivation to excel because the system simply takes it away from them when they do.

This is what no-fault divorce has done to many, MANY american men. I’m one of them.

The tactics are not exactly the same as they would be in the book because in the real world, real world solutions are called for. In my case, it means removing, at all costs, any politicians that refuse to come through on their most basic promises.

It’s time this country got the true leaders it deserves so the collapse can come quickly and the phoenix can rise. I’m almost 64 and my wife and I planted ourselves on a nice farm in the wilderness of central KY, with a couple of streams and no health insurance. We can at least get our children here during the mayhem that is coming. Hopefully.

A lot of people don’t realize that over the last decade or so, every year is more “interesting” than the one before. And it seems to be changing at an exponential rate. This Trump thing is only making the other side (and GOPe) lash out more and more overtly. Next year is going to be a lot more interesting than this year has been, and this year is more interesting than last year was. We’re in for some EXTREMELY interesting times over the next decade.

I read nearly all Ayn Rand’s books, including the ones on straight philosophy. My dad taught classes on Rand.

I would NEVER vote for the enemy.

Have you read Taylor Caldwell’s The Devil’s Advocate?

In it minutemen actually became the enemy to hasten the country’s demise.

Looks like Trump is of the same mindset as I am regarding tearing it down if nobody is willing to really fix it:

I don’t have the power he does, so I have to work in my own way to tear it down. But again, if they repeal Obamacare I won’t have to take that step.
