No thanks. I'm not watching the Dolphins or any other NFL team. I'm simply saying that characterizing those who still do as "traitors and sellouts" is extreme...
Peyton Manning’s Colts jersey was to be retired. As a former governor of Indiana, it was appropriate for him to be there. The pre-planned response to the predictable protest, too, was highly appropriate.
The former governor of Indiana paying tribute to Peyton Manning on the event of his jersey being retired is entirely appropriate.
um...im...glad he left but i have to ask...why the eff did he go to begin with!! Only an idiot would think the players would’nt go down on a knee. Sorry but this looks like a poorly played opportunity for our leaders to make some sort of show... once again taking the bait of the left.
Bender has been running those posts for years, and I always enjoyed them. I have not watched a game since about the third time (now unemployed 2-14 loser) Colin K started kneeling, but I still enjoy Bender’s threads.
I cannot tell those who criticize him what to do, but I hope they will consider lightening up. Bender is a long time Freeper with good manners, and he deserves more respect even when we disagree with him.
In case ya didn’t notice, we live in extreme times. It’s out there daily. And you can classify these NFL pukes however ya like. I see these people who continue to support these arrogant wealthy celebrities, as sellouts and traitors.
And if there are so many good patriotic NFL players as you suggested, why don’t they put a stop to this? I know they could. Do I have to explain to you how easy this could be accomplished?
Massive!
Full text of the article:
“The VP put his nads in the shopping cart he has for that purpose and pushed them out of the stadium.”
Gezuz...It's appropriate for the governor to be there? Then why in tarnation didn't the real governor show up?
Man, this NFL stuff is like a weird cult.
Peyton won a championship during Pence’s tenure, IIRC.
Oh gezzz, so just because some jock won a championship, the former government of the state has to show up because it’s appropriate?
Says who?
Explain it to me. Good patriotic NFL players who fail to participate can have their backs broken on the field (literally - Raiders quarterback Derek Carr), either by intentional bad hits from the other side or by intentional bad blocking from their own side. It's already happened. As far as I can tell, the players no longer have the power to stop this. It's down to the owners and League officials, and they chose the wrong side. Game over (again, literally).
You stated most of players are good patriots? Right?
So why would the good majority not have a little protest of their own, for the sake of honor and country and just walk off the field and leave those AH’s squating there?
Ya think the other American hating AH’s on that team would continue their little protest after that?
??
Actually it was the other NFL fan upthread who said most of players are good patriots. But you agree right?
Nope, I don't agree. I have met several NFL players who were thugs and only one (among those I have met) who was a great guy. That one looks like a monster, talks like he never made it through high school, and was very clearly a good person/American/Christian, but he's in the minority. As far as I can tell, the majority of NFL players are thoroughly selfish and are indifferent to America - not patriots but not hostile. Plus, any real Americans who interfere can be injured on the field. I think it's too late for anyone to fix this.
I cannot imagine any appropriate pro-Anthem protest during our Anthem. The only appropriate and patriotic option would be standing with hand over heart, which some do out of pride, some do out of a desire not to offend fans, and some probably do out of habit. I don't think any other option would work, and a majority of players standing respectfully has not stopped the protest
You completely evaded the question.
That being said, I truly believe that anyone who is supporting the NFL in any way at this time does not have the USA's best interest at heart. Just my 2¢.
