I can see some of the appeal of avoiding unnecessary excess, but this is too extreme for me. Also, the "can't afford to buy a house" problem seems to be directly tied to the desired location.

Not being able to store and prepare means you eat out all the time. That is a clear path to heart disease and obesity.
And a high cost endgame.

There’s the problem. She prefers going out too often and traveling over having a home and roof over her head. I guess the concept of savings is alien to her.

I bought a Honda Element in February, and I've seen a lot of YouTubes about people turning them into campers. There's a company that makes a pop-up that attaches to the roof and is accessed through the moonroof.
I'm not going to do any of that, but I guess if I end up homeless (which I don't anticipate), I've got an alternative.

I did my traveling on Uncle Sam’s dime. 45 countries all over the world. Now that I’m retired my traveling consists of going between my Alaska house and my Arizona house. Two decent sized houses. Not some little shack.

Shouldn’t she be sleeping in a Prius instead of an old Gas Guzzling Ford Explorer? Obviously not a good Liberal.
Maybe Al Gore would let her stay in one of his unused Mansions.

Well, is she saving all the money she isn’t paying in Rent, or just blowing it hanging out with her friends in trendy Restaurants?
Save your money and buy a nice little Condo sweetie. The sacrifice will be worth it and you won’t have to worry about a Mortgage or having to cut the Grass.
