There is no way Mattis will agree with this.
M2s are outdated and IEDs and new tank killer technology can shred them. Furthermore,tactically, they will be misused and become fish in a barrel. Like most older generation military technology and equipment,the maintenance time and costs are also exorbitant.
Recall that last year, Saudi Arabia was so fed up with Hezbollah running the Lebanese government that they ended billions of dollars of support to the Lebanese military and even expelled Lebanese in SA.
