Interesting. Well maybe I’ll get my wish. Of course I would prefer a free country but I don’t see us being able to keep it. What happens? Does democracy become ungovernable and unable to behave rationally? Unable to protect itself? Everybody grabbing tax dollars?

At least someone in DC still knows how to impanel a grand jury. They’re only late by two years.

The soft coup will not succeed, the Battle is the Lord’s.

But what if the soft coup succeeds? Do we take up arms?

Romans 13:1 -- Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

This is one I struggle with as a Christian. Was the American Revolution a defiance of God and his established governing authority (King George)? And yet that authority itself had been modified by revolts (for example, all that preceded the Magna Carta). England? As if that didn't arise out of rebellion against "established authority." How far back do you go?

So our American rebellion succeeds and we establish a constitutional republic. Is it, born of defiance, legitimate in God's eyes? And how does that matter for us today, since this is now and, whatever happens with Trump, will be our "established governing authority?"

Throwing this out there. A bit off topic from the thread, and of no interest to the atheists; but I'm not big on creating vanity posts....

Would be nice if Jeff Sessions offered his resignation and then Trump puts in Rudy Guiliani as AG and he closes down the special counsel....that is my 2 cents on how it could work out ...

Yep, he’s been a busy beaver lining up all the players.

DJT waited far too long. He should have fired Sessions as soon as he recused himself, and shut this down before letting them advance their evil to this point. In the game of chess, this is a “check”.

I imagine the FF must have had similar thoughts and feelings concerning what lay ahead, what they knew they would have to do, in order to gain their liberty.

The Liberty Tree is very dry and parched.

Oh really? Who in the military do you trust enough to be your dictator? Ill skip the national version of the childlike life of living on a military base.

It could well be argued that clean up and clean out of the defense department (which by the way is the one area Trump has looked to only add spending rather than look for waste and cuts) would actually best be done by someone who hasn’t spent his career in the department. That is really behind the traditional idea of civilian oversight at the top of defense.

Actually I was speaking of the Middle East. Trump came in concerned with winning in the Middle East, not retreating, cleaning up after Obama there and cleaning out ISIS.

This, I believe, confirms Trump’s desire for bringing in predominantly military minds.

But a John McCain-recommended military mind?

Who doesn’t want to acknowledge Islam’s role in the Middle East threat?

And really, you are talking about a need for battlefield tactics to be handled in the defense establishment IMO.

Mueller’s target isn’t the Russians and never was.

And ugh, how about this—Trump hired McMaster on a half-hour interview based on McCain having recommended him to Trump. That right there is the tip off that McMaster should have been the last man in DC to name as NSA.

You’re right, nothing will surprise our creator, but God gave man free will and dominion over this world. History has shown that great nations can fall under the weight of corruption, and the good guys don’t always win.

They will do to Don Jr and anyone else they want that they did to Martha Sweat and many others. Question them for hours under oath until they slip up, then charge them with lying under oath or obsteuction. Evidence and facts isn’t enough against this level of corruption.

There is a solution, but it isn’t a civil war in the traditional sense, since the enemy isn’t wearing a uniform. Instead they are embedded in every branch of government. It would look more like an insurgency than anything else I believe.

Even though Trump is smart, he’s depending on the people around him for input and advice. I believe they are isolating him from reality, reassuring him everything is fine and working behind his back to oust him. I wish Trump would read the same news daily that we do, forget cable.

The success of our government relies on leaders who genuinely care about the country and will do what’s right for the people rather than themselves. That is no longer the case in 95% of them, so I fear we will never be able to “vote” our way back to prosperity.

Because Trump is largely surrounded by weaklings, inexperienced incompetents and traitors. He didn’t realize how bad his own party would try to undermine, and how evil the Dems really are, but I certainly hope he knows the truth by now.
