There is also the Overton Window, which has resulted in a steady social drift Leftward. A friend explained it this way. Somebody wants society to allow gay marriage, but people are appalled by the idea. So, you start by decriminalizing gay behavior. Then you make gays prominent in the arts and okay to have as friends. Next you trivialize heterosexual marriage and then press for gay marriage. Next thing you know; dogs and cats living together. (”Ghostbusters.”) I think this process took around 20 years. What a spectacular turnabout.

In the early 1980’s the project I was on received an FBI curtesy briefing. It was an astonishing eye opener. They showed photocopies of checks from what they claimed were KGB accounts; made out to cash. Some were as little as $500. Larger groups got bigger checks. These checks covered a large number of groups working to disrupt American society; that being the goal. I remember gays and a communist leader named Frank Marshal Davis were among the recipients. I understand there is a government sponsored gay organization for intelligence workers. I doubt if the FBI would dare give the same briefing today.

First, freedom of speech doesn’t require anyone to provide you an audience. Second, freedom of speech doesn’t prohibit any reaction people might have to your “speech” (in fact, that’s one of its main points). Third, freedom of speech doesn’t absolve you of responsibility if you tell people to do something stupid and they actually do it.

Just read Alinsky’s rules - cut the target off from “human sympathy” - dehumanizing and contemptuous, chilling and venomous stuff - no wonder the left end up virtually thinking they’re gods with the right to decide who lives and dies.....
