The trace? Srsly? Bwahahahahahahahah! HAGs United? Doesn't one of the ccw orgs have a legal insurance rider one can buy/subscribe to?

I've never seen a website (The Trace) so full of anti-gun hyperventilating hysteria & horse shit in my life. These idiots are in so deep that they may not know they're wasting their time....

So this is why the NRA disinvited the USCCA to their convention. They don’t want the competition under the same roof.

Bought and paid for by nannie bloomers so it “may” be a bit biased against guns and their evil owners. Just sayin’.....

They’re not the first. I had similar insurance starting 10 years ago.

“The local (Oregon) CC instructor says to plan on $20,000 for clear and simple self defense.”

No always. Depends on if charged and in which State. I once paid $1,500 and got it back from the State. Always get an attorney, and a prior prosecutor and not some yahoo that thinks he knows self-defense laws is best.

Lets change laws rather than enrich the enemy.Bleed the beast.

Lawyers MAKE the laws. Ol” Shakespeare had someone speak the answer: First, kill all the lawyers ! (or some reasonable facsimile)

I did a little bit of looking at that membership.
Their members must have a valid CCW permit for their state. Not much good for the states that don’t require them.

They offer only 10 counseling sessions.
They do offer firearm replacement if the member’s weapon is confiscated.
Upon reading the rest of their terms, they seem okay, but there are better ones out there.

There have been a few stories from former members about USCCA being a scam over the last few years.

.
My original point was simply that living by insurance to compensate for bad laws is a long term loser.

“is a long term loser.”

Do you mean,as a group, the buyers of ins,of any kind, are losers?? Stats would say that I believe..... i.e. if the ins co. is profitable, they win,you lose...

So maybe I’d better look at other options....

I would.
Like I said upthread, I’ve been using Second Call Defense for years and have been very happy with them.

Code,
Am I reading that correctly, that you paid $1,500 for legal fees for a simple defence case? Was that a long time ago, or did you know the lawyer and get a buddy price? I have seen retainer fee double and triple that for top tier lawyers. Could you expound for our education? Thanks

A good attorney doesn’t need massive retainer. They know how to clear the charges quickly and solve the problem. Mine was a prior prosecutor and knew exactly what to do. I also knew exactly what to say and do. Between us, the issue ended with a single phone call.
