Why did Trump betray us? (Why things never seem to change no matter who we send to Washington)

Why is this bilge allowed on FR?

To keep it from becoming an echo chamber, as so many liberal sites have become.

Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, all of the Senators never have to make the hard decisions, they sit on their posteriors and don’t have to make the government work. So, yes, then the briefing room clowns spread their hate, the clowns do nothing for the most innocent around us, the unborn, they’d let the unborn die, at least Trump has done something.

You are the real liberal if you ask me, you spit on the sanctity of life.

Amazing isnt it? we have it all, and we STILL get hosed... and they want to tell you its just rain...
every dim i know is happy... that should say it all.

Maybe that is because we didn’t have it all. Rather, the #uniparty has it all.

“North Korea. Not the time to shut down the government.”

I really don’t think that during a “government shutdown” the navy’s ships will be anchored, AF bombers will be grounded and army troops will be put on furlough.

Trump is having plenty of success, more in his first 100 than Bush ever imagined possible in 8 years. I think a good old fashioned government shut down would be in order.

But there is a problem that I suspect Trump is well aware of, being the RINO back stabbers would go to the MSM and side with whatever tune the rats are playing. It would be an MSM feeding frenzy.

Trump will get things right, I never expected him to accomplish so much in so little time.

This may or may not be an indication of what’s to come, but there is no way that any conservative could consider the passing of this continuing resolution a “fine job” by President Trump or the Republicans. How can it be a fine job for conservatives, when it funds everything a leftist could ask for, and doesn’t fund a thing which conservatives could ask for? Especially regarding Planned Parenthood? It’s much too soon to say that President Trump has thrown conservatives under the bus, but it’s ridiculous to say that this CR is a job well done, or a fine job. When the ‘rats are grinning from ear to ear over it, how can any conservative think it was what we voted for?

I agree.

This was not a win. Not even close.

Looking at the CR, it does not appear the GOP won anything last fall.

I am curious as to what the explanation will be in September when we lose again.

Still, we have had some wins, and I must acknowledge that. A decent USSC justice for example. I never put my faith in Trump, or any elected Prince.

What has he done? Executive orders, man that’s so easy even obama could do that. If you think someone who calls it two Corinthians knows about sanctity of life, you are just fooling yourself.
How much do you know about me before hurling nasty accusations? Sounds like a butt hurt comment from a Berkeley person who has no defense.

I think DJT has come to realize how deep the swamp really is.

I wouldn’t want to be one of these feckless GOPe characters come September. Trump has a big mouth and will not be restrained by niceties. He might start to name names and who are funding them...on both sides of the aisle.

(while I know this isn’t popular or right, I kinda enjoy knowing that all the spying authority that Obama claimed for himself, now belongs to DJT)

Me thinks you are correct. Trump is lining up the pawns. He will show the GOPers for what they truly are, flush them into the light, and then have them on a leash or cut them loose.

Are there that many Freepers here who are never Trumpers?

I voted for Trump in order to keep Hillary out of the White House.

But in doing so, I never allowed myself to believe that Trump has been anything other than a big-government centrist his whole life.

Exactly. The uniparty does indeed have it all. This CR may be a lot of things, but it is in no way a “fine job” for conservatives. If we look back with chagrin at what the “compassionate conservative” president did, wouldn’t it be wise to at least hold our horses when we see things like this?

The fact that they can’t get the votes from their own party should expose, ONCE AND FOR ALL, the “party” fraud.

There is only UNIPARTY (Dems & RINOS) and PATRIOTS (DJT and We the People).

Once we understand where loyalties really lay, it is not difficult to see the problem we face.

That's pretty much the case, unfortunately. Trump is finding that he has precious little allies inside the beltway; in fact, just about *every* leader (Ryan, McConnell) are more than happy to shove the knife into his back - because Trump stands to ruin everything for them. I have no doubt in my mind that Ryan has in his desk articles of impeachment drawn up (read up on the thin justifications needed for impeachment), but he can't bring them out right now because Trump is too popular.

Trump has to keep what victories he can engineer front and center to the American people, doing end runs around the major media. That's the only way he can win against the bastards in the GOPe.

Gosh - I have to keep checking to see if I'm actually on FR - so many concern trolls and folks who haven't a clue about what it is to live in reality vs. their own wet dream fantasies doing their best to instill doubt about Trump and weaken him so he has an even tougher row to hoe - all the while deluding themselves that they are providing a public service.

You and those like you would be crying if Reagan was President today - go someplace more in line with your efforts - concern troll/snowflake.

The real betrayal is from the RINOs/GOPe and folks on FR who do their best to weaken an already besieged friend of the People.

GOP Briefing Room doesn’t go near pro-life stories where Trump and Pence have done so much, they just slander, it’s disgusting. They are the ones who always slander others as not being conservative but they don’t give 2 pennies about the unborn. That’s not conservative to me.

I'm amazed...did these whiners think they elected a magician, or a Venezuelan-style strongman?

Which is it?

It’s our Congress, not Trump’s. We gave him the Congress that doesn’t want to do anything.

Thank you. I too voted for him, I didn’t even hold my nose to do it. I finally decided that it would take someone like him to deal with the “swamp”, and I sure as heck wasn’t voting for Hillary. I was glad that he won, even enthusiastic on election night, simply because we beat the left, that night. It was certainly a better starting point than losing to Hillary.

But I was under no illusions, and like you, I don’t put that kind of faith in any human leader. I am holding my fire, hoping not to be disappointed. But I can’t help remembering all the support we gave W, the “compassionate conservative”, and Trump has never claimed to be any kind of conservative.

Very true. DJT is the People’s LAST chance to work within the system for our country’s restoration. Sobering realization.
