‘At least Mr. Silver, after proclaiming Trump’s doom seven times, states he has learned his lesson.’

Bol. Maybe being called ‘Nate Junk Metal’—and worse—relentlessly all over social media turned out not to be much fun. Silver was thrashed not only by the Right but also by furious leftist and moonbats, so enraged by Hillary’s loss that any and every available scape goat bore the brunt. It would require a skull of solid bone, not to learn some kind of lesson from the abuse Silver has endured.

I agree. If this were a RINO administration, I would say that she and others like her would walk. However, it is Trump with Sessions as the AG. No holds barred on where this will go. Grand Juries, Indictments, Plea deals, Trials, etc.....

Let us see, Trump did not actually say it but he repeated it. Did he repeat it or adopt it?

Does it really matter? The point is the Trump is in the 30s in the approval ratings and has to reach out beyond his 43% base which has obviously deteriorated. No doubt the fiasco over healthcare has alienated even parts of his base but the kerfuffle over Russia probably did not help. The revelations concerning government spying on an opposition party in a general election might have helped a lot more if it had been properly introduced by something other than a 5 AM tweet containing misstatements that have to be corrected and then walked back when the administration said it would not comment until after Congress had finished its investigation.

That is my point and nothing more. It is unfortunate that full advantage was not taking of one of the juiciest scandals to come along since Watergate because it was impetuously tweeted at 5 AM.

If you care to see the fraud that polling has become laid bare with in-depth and flawless analysis, you can’t do better than Sundance. He’s an analytical genius-wizard:

NOTHING - I repeat NOTHING - is going to stick to the NSA to the first Halfrican President of the USA. The GOP & Fox will huff and puff and then the story will be replaced by the next big attack on Trump.

Need I remind anyone on this forum, with very few exceptions it is ONLY Republicans that face prison or impeachment. The only RAT that I can remember doing any punishment for a CRIME - and there were many felonies committed here by Obie, Rice, and Hitlery - is William Jefferson.

Someone made an observation about Trump. It came about because the journalist (or blogger) was mind-boggled by how committed Trump’s supporters were. He had never seen anything like it. The image of Trump shooting someone in plain sight and remaining wildly, indescribably popular was his best attempt at communicating the unparalleled loyalty of Trump supporters.

If you weren’t blinded by Trump hate, you could understand why Trump repeated it. He did it as a way of bolstering his supporters. It was Trump’s way of saying, ‘Even the crooked MSM has noticed your loyalty. You’re making a real impression on them—here is what was said, etc.’

All Trump supporters understood what he was saying instantly. He wasn’t talking about shooting anyone. He was illustrating the profound and amazing impression his supporters made even on people who were 100% behind Hillary.

Otoh, to a man and to a woman Trump haters misconstrued the comment. Unbelievably, as you’ve just illustrated, the misrepresentation continues even this long after the primaries. I.e.: the worst of the haters are clinging to a false presentation of that comment right down to this very day.

To quote Stephen Byerley in Isaac Asimov’s Evidence:

“Exactly. I mean that I’m going to let him go ahead, choose his rope, test its strength, cut off the right length, tie the noose, insert his head and grin. I can do what little else is required.”

What a great quote, thank you!

Look, I quoted, or misquoted as the case may be, Trump on this incident not to show the man was callous but to show the loyalty of his base. That he enjoys such strong loyalty from his base is relevant to a discussion of his approval rating and how that might be affected by infelicitous tweets.

The base will not much object if he missteps but the base is not the whole world. It was 43% on election day and it is down in the 30s now. The rest of the world very likely does care. Senators and congressmen certainly care. And Trump above all cares very much, that cannot be denied.

It becomes tedious to be forced constantly to respond to false allegations that I am a Trump hater. Nothing could be further from the truth. The difference between you and me is that I judge a politician on his policies, you base the policies on whether you like the politician. I think you have it backwards.

Therefore, when Trump is right as he is, for example, about immigration (except Daca) I support him but when he is wrong as he is for example about Rino care and about reneging on his promise to pursue Hillary Clinton for her crimes, I oppose him. It is not a question of liking or disliking Trump.

It is policy not personal.

Trump has a knack for pulling the string that starts the whole ball unraveling as well as an uncanny ability to create monikers that focus other peoples perception of an individual, low energy Jeb, Little Marco, Crooked Hillary.

The time of Trump has been a joy in so many way even if there is quite a bit of thunder, lightning and skies falling. All of a sudden I’m engaged & rooting for the team, and checking twitter.

[ Former President Barack Obama’s national security adviser Susan Rice ordered U.S. spy agencies to produce “detailed spreadsheets” of legal phone calls involving Donald Trump and his aides when he was running for president, according to former U.S. Attorney Joseph diGenova. ]

Is Obama still out of the country trying to stand off a distance?

You must be talking about another country. In the USA on the ground we like Trump just fine. There are fake polls and then there are real numbers. Try looking at the Small Business Optimism Index, at the manufacturers new commitments investmenting in America, the job creation. If you are reading the MSM you are being fed a bunch of lies which you shouldn’t believe or peddle.

I know I’m preaching to the choir here. We’re so far beyond Watergate that it’s unthinkable how much damage there is and how deep it runs.

Worse than that; Obama and Hillary and co. have spent the previous 8 years feeding nothing but lies and poison to simple-minded idiots who wouldn’t know the truth if it punched them in the face. Many are still in denial.

Nobody went to jail for the IRS scandal, Hillary’s pay-for-play rogue server, Benghazi, Fast & Furious, etc. So I don’t expect anything but maybe a hearing or two and that’s it..

Sessions credibility is riding on this. I think he is going to bring it home.
