Giết công! Biệt Động Quân co van caca đầu dien cai đầu....
Well, if he had discriminated in his shooting, they would probably charge him with a hate crime.
“The suspects were described as short, black male”
Well, it certainly appears you've never made the run from Baghdad International to the Green Zone. Thankfully, it;s not that bad here most places yet, but let the orcs get away with their attacks, and it'll get that way right quickly.
You cannot continue to shoot (apparently down a crowded street) after they are running away an no longer a threat.
Do not bet your life on the chance that I will not. I can't recall ever having done so, but I have fired on motorists who were tailgating me too closely. Because you have not been in circumstances where such acts were the wise and prudent course of action, do not assume that the generalities that have ruled your tame and protected life apply to everyone.
We cannot condone irresponsible gun handling here on FR.
Nor cowardice, either.
Concur. If factual, and that's a big if, a good many details that might improve the *lessons learned* and make the Monday morning quarterbacking more worthwhile are absent.
But if someone has your fiance in a headlock and your kids are also around, are you really going to open fire on the situation?
First thing is, she's carried my former Stasi East German PM Makarov since shortly before 09/11/2001 when her best friend and our intended bridesmaid was murdered in her apartment in Memphis; milady has used it twice since then and anyone trying a headlock or full nelson on her could expect an eight-round, muzzle contact salute. On the other hand she's scary good with knives and if silence was prudent leaving one of her knives in somebody's kidney might be an option, since she'd still have two left. Second thing is, if I can get a round into the wrassler's partner, the change in odds may start looking like time for him to turn mother's picture to the wall and go attend church services. If their vehicle is present, I might decide that it needs some new holes, either to disable it or to mark it for later identification...and to make some noise and fuss. But if I did nothing at all, I reckon she'd be quite disappointed in me. Do something, even if it's wrong.
This guy wasnt in a snipers perch aiming at still target.
Just so. And he may have had no skill as a rifleman, or he may have had no appropriate equipment. Two other untold details might also have answered questions as to whether it was a good shoot or not: his blood alcohol content, and the results of a drug screen.
Can I see myself in the same or a similar situation? Oh, yes. Do I think I would have handled it as he did? I hope not.
But I am pretty sure that I would have done something, and the decision as to what to do would have to have been made in a real big hurry.
hey you stupidass call me a coward to my face you piece of shit
Clearly, you did not not notice that I only stated that cowardice on the part of those attacking women and children is a despicable thing. If you feel that particular shoe is your size and fits you, then you're the one seeing cowardice in your position. You should hardly be surprised that others agree with you.
It's of course also possible that your reading skills are substandard since you do not seem to be able to read or follow the FR posting policy: Please: NO profanity, NO personal attacks, NO racism or violence in posts.
YOU Are the one lacking writing skills.
You post a response to my comment to the effect that my comment was an indication of cowardice. I will quote your entire comment: “So is cowardice”
That clearly leaves much to be desired if it was meant to express a more complex thought.
You seem to be lacking reading COMPREHENSION skills as well.
Anyone trained in firearms use knows that firing down a crowded street at a fleeing criminal is wrong. He could have hit a bystander- do I need to point that out?
We are not talking about Falujah and possible terrorists following a military vehicle too close in a war zone.
Unmuffled aircraft engines and the noise from tank main gun fire bouncing off the turret armor a foot from my right ear pretty well wiped out my ability to understand the tonal-based nuances of the language. Some of my Vietnamese counterparts got a pretty good chuckle out of my pronunciation/accent, but that has been noted in other languages I've attempted as well. Actually, I had less trouble picking up usable Vietnamese than I did French.
But I could throw some Japanese at them too.
In the early 1970s before most American college kids had a clue about Japanese comic books or animated cartoon films and I was asked what my college [GI Bill] major was, I'd often tell them I was studying the Japanese Anime dialect....
Everybody knows only cops get to shoot fleeing subjects in the back.
I was on Okinawa for 18 months before Nam. I could still hear there.
Welcome home.
