Screwdriver?
Speaking of dread, I’m going to try to get Tom the Son up. He had previously expressed an interest in going to the strawberry farm.
I'm happy about that! I gave Lablady all my Christmas and Halloween socks, but I've kept the Valentine, St. Patrick's Day and Monkey and Frog socks!
I was just cleaning out my fridge and wondered if it would be cheaper for me to shop every day for the things I want to eat. Or every other day. My eating habits are changing (age? CFIDS? stress?) and I don't want more than one serving of something. I will ponder it...
Every other day would probably work.
Almost time to load my folks up for the strawberry farm. It’s only five minutes away, even closer than Waterfowl Rescue.
I’ve been looking up math drills for Sally. OldTax-lady will give her a substantial cash reward if she passes the CP placement test the second time. She’s quite close to “proficient” in most of the sections.
Here’s to Sally passing the CP placement test the second time! Everyone likes cash incentives!
My new phone is charging, and I will do as much as I can here, then at 0900 when Cricket opens, I’ll take it to them to transfer the data.
It may be a little drawn out to do it here, but there is a lot of help on their website. And that’s good. My brain is a little on the slow side today.
*tagline*
True, true.
I’m on a quest for Elen’s Social Security card. After a diligent rummage through the files, I’m convinced it’s in her room somewhere. I’ll make her look for it when she gets home from school, which will be shortly.
The tagline was a response to a new anti-Trump song by Bruce Springsteen. He’s never been more than mediocre in my estimation.
I would go to the store today, but all I want is a salad to go with my stuffed pepper. (I froze three of them.) I might have enough for that, but I don’t think I have enough for a bottle of $2.97 Pink Drink. Which would taste good with both of the above!
I’ll send you some gelt for wine and salad, if you promise to buy it and drink it. Er, and eat the salad.
I told Elen to look in her room for her Social Security card, even though she’s absolutely sure it’s not there. Dingbat.
She can get a new one within 2 weeks, and she’s got a zillion other documents.
Promise! Thanks!
Cold (67) and windy (16 mph) today, and I’m fighting with my new phone. I can’t take it to Cricket until I activate it, or they will charge me. So far, it’s only 40% charged, and it won’t give me any screens I can work with, though I have all the destructions on the website.
I’ll let it charge while I visit with Charlie, and then I’ll see what I can do with it. I will go to Walmart after my visit with him, as I’ll be hungry then. And if I can’t get the phone set up until later today, I’ll just take it in tomorrow morning. I may find another Cricket store, because the gal that first waited on me earlier in the week, talked to me like she thought my gray hair made me stupid. UNGH!
How old is Elen? 17? She should be past the ditzy stage by now.
(Did I tell you how much I hate Fridays?)
Oh. There was an invoice with the nebulizer kit and filters: filters, 2, .16; neb kit reusable, 1.65. I don’t know how they could afford to part with two filters. </sarc *sheesh*
Elen is 19. Sally is 17. Tom is gigantic.
Ah...they grow so fast. Especially Tom.
71% charging on the cell phone...it will, indeed, be tomorrow before I get the data transferred. Now my old phone wants me to make emergency calls only. That’s not good.
I did and I will. Both.
The wind is cold.
Good. Back from form-filling with the Marines. On Monday afternoon, she’s going to PT with them. On Tuesday morning, they’re going to run her up to the Social Security office in Charlotte to get a provisional Social Security card. Then they’ll send her documents up-chain, and probably in a couple of weeks, she’ll take the ASVAB and have her medical exam.
At the rate this Congress does stuff I'm glad it didn't require one. It could have been years.
That's about how we live. We can't bring home from the store any more than we can carry.
That would be quite a step up for him in my estimation.
Excellent!
I’m still fighting with the new phone. At least I know it works, as I just got a phone call. The person “was concerned” but really didn’t want to hear my tale of woe, so the conversation was short, making me a little more ticked off than I was this morning.
I will deal with this inconvenience and if they charge me in the morning for the aggravation I’ve had this afternoon, I’m going to be very upset. I shouldn’t have to go through this just to swap out a phone, fercryinoutloud.
I tried to sign in with FB but I didn’t have the right password, and couldn’t recall what the correct password was for the email account (yahoo) and FB. FB was supposed to have sent me a password re-set email, but it hasn’t gotten here, and I’m almost at the point of saying “bunk it all.” And they want me to pass everything through Goober, which I loathe and detest.
There were two good things today, and the second one was a neighbor who went out of his way to tell me what good-looking legs I have. (Pedal pushers/clam diggers)
So it looks like now is a good time to go to bed. (I forgot that green peppers don’t like me.)
Indeed.
