The GOP in Congress does not want the PPACA repealed, and, as I predicted, the only way repeal would EVER pass was if the GOP were certain of a Presidential veto.

Obamacare won’t be repealed, because it can’t be repealed - or, more exactly, it can’t be repealed without ushering in huge Democratic majorities in the House and the Senate.

Members of Congress don’t know much, but they can count votes like a pimp in a whorehouse can count money.

Yes, the voters “hate Obamacare and want it repealed”. That is absolutely true.

It’s also true that they want the ability to buy insurance for pre-existing conditions, want insurance companies to be forbidden to cancel policies for non-payment, want zero payment at the point of service, want their adult children who are smoking dope in a dive in Oakland to stay covered, want their States to expand Medicaid without taxes going up, and so on.

In other words, the only two things they hate about Obamacare are paying for it, and the name.

Republicans in Congress understand this perfectly well, which is why there’s no plan.

And, not coincidentally, Obamacare (and Romneycare) were the culmination of fifty years of “reform”, all of which had the purpose of destroying the private sector or making it impossible for the private sector to function, except for boob jobs and a few other things. And, by 2009, the mission was largely accomplished.

Obamacare was merely a temporary mop-up operation, until full nationalization was possible.

And now, it is.

Like Nixon to China, Trump will propose single payer within the year. It’s really the only way out at this point.

And before you accuse me of favoring it, realize that it will destroy a lifetime of work for me, built in part on a lifetime of work by my father. I don’t like it - I hate it.

But it’s coming, because it’s what the voters, bless their pointy little heads, want.

That’s because it went to the Medicare increase, per Obamacare....

One of many reasons we want Obamacare over with...

Free stuff is hard to take away. Medicaid is the poison pill the Marxist left dropped in Obamacare. It’s pure evil. And the GOP governors who expanded Medicaid are idiot RINOs.

I just looked at the statements again-—and you are right.

I was looking at the net amount, and not the breakdown.

You are correct. Nearly half of the country already basically has single payer with Medicare/Medicaid. Obama destroyed the employer provided plans that built the healthcare system that we once knew.

Medicare for all is the ultimate outcome when the medical industry is finally nationalized.

1? block grants

2? state share goes from 10% to 18%

California and New York need to actually pay something. Medicaid expansion is currently just about free for them after payment of high CA/NYS income taxes by providers and corporations and provider-paid sales taxes.

Obamacare DENIES healthcare to millions of people.

Keeping Obamacare stills DENIES care to millions.

REPEAL

“REPLACE = Patient & Doctor”

That’s the cheap part.

There are pills that each sell for more than 10 doctor visits.

One is not contingent on the other. Claiming it is is a ruse.

Repeal. Period.

Republicans want to replace Obama’s unconstitutional, big-government law with their own unconstitutional, big-government law.

They want to out-Santa the Democrats.

The problem is, the Republican base has already gotten so worked up over Obamacare, due in no small part to the countless congressional votes and critical rhetoric by Repub pols, that NOT repealing will also likely bring down some very serious political consequences. What happens when a demoralized and betrayed conservative base stays home in 2018, while the sure-to-be historically energized left shows up to the polls in droves?

This is a classic no-win scenario for Republicans in Congress, and I suspect reprogramming the simulation isn't going to help any this time.

Unless someone breaks the Kobiyashi Maru rules.

I have been saying for some time that Trump's way out of the trap he's in is to smash the GOP and run his own candidates in 2018.

He stole their party. They want it back. They're too scared (at the moment) to hurt him openly, but, as we see, if he were on fire they wouldn't piss on him to put it out (as they say).

The GOP is not going to help Trump AT ALL. And if they can hurt him through inaction, they will.

If he plays the simulation by the rules, he (and we) are going to get creamed. Time to turn the table over and start a new game.
