I remember reading Dr. Sowell’s columns in the old Pittsburgh Press as a middle-schooler. Played a key role in forming my political ideas.
Thanks for everything, Dr. Sowell, and enjoy your retirement!
To: Fury
PowerlineBlog in recognizing Sowell's retirement cited
his 1975 review of John Kenneth Galbraith's book as an example from early in Sowell's career. Amongst those who's thoughts exceed 100 character chunks I defy anyone to find a clearer and more complete demolition of a liberal icon's acclaimed work. It was published in Commentary, a magazine who's title would have been more accurate regarding Sowell absent one "m" and an "n." He's illuminated their darkness and signaled doom to liberals his entire career.

Rats! I could review his 1975 review linked as above from the
Powerline piece on my iPad, but the link now isn't working from my laptop, giving just Commentary's table of contents.

It has been wonderful to read his insightful truths. He is not a never trumper.. he is a never stimulus, never settled law, never .. well we will have to work something out on the dreamers, he is a never govt should be part of healthcare and he is never ivanka trump children’s taxpayer cash machine and he is never joe gun grabber manchin.. he is never CEO Christmas bailout, he is never jobs created or saved using the taxpayer wallet. Those are the things that you disagreed withobama on, and yet trumps trillion in stimulus will be like parting the Red Sea. Enjoy your retirement, we will enjoy your photography.. 86.. I am impressed.. such clarity.

Interesting, isn’t it, what we consider poverty now and ‘back then’.
In 1982, my step-mom left my dad and vowed she “wouldn’t return until he installed indoor plumbing” in the farm house. This was just outside of Montgomery, AL. She lived in town for about 3 months, and returned to indoor plumbing.

A good rule of thumb for conservatives: If you disagree with Thomas Sowell, you should go back and re-think your arguments and figure out where you went wrong.
