Any writer for NA who does not immediately quit will never receive another page view from me. I will not support such slander.

If it had been the New York Times, of “Mother Jones” who had published this, I would understand it. But the national Review! I know it has gone way downhill since William F. Buckley died, but this is egregious!

Psalm 41:9 NASB
Even my close friend in whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me.

I was a subscriber and looked forward to every issue. When William Buckley was writing the editorials, they were brilliant and, yes I had my dictionary at my side to gain a new vocabulary. Now, the mag is no better than Time and is heading for its own self inflicted demise. The only exposure is here on Free Republic when posted.

Isn’t Barron the 10 year old?

Yes, but it's pretty likely that the NR writer was referring to Eric and Donald Jr., not Barron.

Here is a comment from one of his anti-cop articles:

“We find ourselves in the familiar predicament: The institutions and the people that we deputize to secure our liberty are — it is inevitable — the most significant threat to that liberty. This is evident at all levels of government.”

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/416811/police-shootings-and-eternal-dilemma-kevin-d-williamson

Here is a fact: As I near 60, no cop has imposed on my liberty. I’ve had a few speeding tickets, one of which was unjustified. But no cop has harmed my ability to speak freely, carry concealed where legal, worship, change jobs, travel, etc.

Meanwhile, many cops have worked in dangerous situations to allow me to move freely in public, unhindered by thugs. But Williamson wants me to believe the greatest threat to my liberty comes from...cops? Not from democrat politicians passing hideous laws? Not from Obama’s executive orders? Not from President Hillary Clinton being able to appoint 3-4 justices who would totally ignore the US Constitution for the next 30 years?

I’m not saying cops poop rose petals. But compared to what Williamson’s desired President Hillary Clinton would have done to my liberty...cops poop rose petals!

Anyone who prefers a Hillary Clinton Supreme Court to cops is a raging psycho POS.

This guy bemoans the decline of manners as he likens Trump’s sons (whichever ones)to Uday and Qusay.

I can’t say it better, so I’ll just repeat that!

“I think people need to pass a drug test, background check, go thru intensified hands on training with objectively scored qualification, and be required to obtain a permit from the government at a fee in order to exercise their 1st amendment right.

“Especially people as stupid as this guy.”

Is this another "1984" style "2 minutes of hate"?

The loosers are organizing them around the clock now a days.

A first amendment permit from the government with a fee, seriously?

Its what I had to do to freely and legally exercise my 2nd amendment rights. How do you justify idiots like this being able to print and say anything that they want to with no regard for the aftermath?

The 2nd amendment is the only one that specifically says it shall not be infringed upon, so registration of all people who wish to have a printed opinion should be subject to fees and registration in the same manner. So we know who these idiots are who spew crap from their pie holes.

I will be shocked if NR is still being published on dead trees in two years, and if it survives on the internet much longer.

NR has been a waste of trees for some time now. Hard to believe that a magazine that once featured intellectual giants like Kirk and Burnham now publishes pap from mental midgets like Williams, Goldberg, and Shapiro.

It's at once funny and disgusting to watch Williams and Shapiro bend themselves into pretzels to please the liberal elites by using the same virtue-signaling buzzwords that liberals like to use (i.e. calling their opponents "racist," "xenophobic," "sexist" etc). In a few years it will all be irrelevant - neoconservatives and other politically correct multiculturalists posing as right-wingers will re-join their comrades in the Democratic Party and leave the political right to authentic dissenters and challengers to the liberal elite.

We have data bases full of names of people that are banned from exercising their 2nd amendment rights for any number of reasons.

Yet we allow idiots like this to intentionally lie and deceive through the printed word with impunity.

Why arent journalists registered and kept track of the same way that gun owners or child molesters are?

That’s what liberals are asking for. With that license, they can attach a label to their reports that say, “Government Approved News.” As long as anyone can publish anything they want, but can’t label it as “Government Approved News,” why not give them what they ask for?
