This is a significant observation. In fact, developed nations are vastly more concerned about a healthy environment. Their air, water, and earth are cleaner and better cared for than third world countries.
The bottom line is civilization, particularly in the Christian West, are especially cognizant of the responsibility to care for the earth. So-called environmental movements are notorious for destroying the very environment they claim to be saving.
