I believe the federal employees in question said they "would consider" leaving their jobs if Trump won. Obviously they have re-considered.

I believe Trump won primarily on economic issues, and the simple fact is they couldn’t hide the economic stagnation forever. In most parts of this country, even parts won by Hillary, the economy is still horrible; after 8 years of “affirmative action recovery” (so called because it would be racist to admit Obama failed), there was no way to hide the damage anymore.
