[I think that lessons in logical reasoning are also needed.]
A return to the reading of the BIBLE is first and foremost. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. Application of the WORD is the foundation of a civilized society.
Good post.
If they were not taxed, it is not your money. They were just allowed to keep theirs
Lemme show you my 401k statement with the GM bonds still listed in it — value "0".
Yeah, he "bailed out" GM all right.
Nine months? You mean seven years, ten plus change months, don’t you?
Your grandfather is a wise man. He’s seen it all in his life time. Those two should buy a clue from him. God bless him.
I believe he will do just that (put him in his place) on or after January 20th. I can’t wait either. Buying lots of popcorn after the 1st of the year.
the bible is great but even with those that read the bible they are taken in by the propaganda of the left. I have a friend who is a devout Christian. who I know spends about an hour each day reading the bible. he is a big time liberal and despite his reading the bible really does not have an understanding of what he is reading because his thoughts are not grounded in logic and reason. the stuff I hear him say just boggles my mind at how counter it is to what IO get from reading the bible though I will admit I don’t read he bible as much as he does
That guy keeps popping up on Fox. Is he the only Carrier employee they can find? (Of course, Fox does have a very low budget for news).
The handy thing about truth (and what its enemies know and despise), is that it just *is*. It sits there in plain sight waiting for people to notice it. Hence the world of falsehood must occupy itself 24/7/365 to obscure the obvious.
It's like a hundred people working in a windowless building who had been told by management that the weather is horrible outside, that the driving wind and rain will wash them all away, that it is too dangerous to open the doors, it is too scary to travel, so everyone needs to remain at work in the nice dry and safe building.
And everybody sticks around because that's what they've been told. All they know and believe (and repeat) is that same erroneous weather report.
Then along comes some independent-minded soul who thinks to peek outside anyway - depite everyone else screaming at him "Don't do that, you'll kill us!" - and well well... it's a bright sunny day! Not a cloud in sight.
There go all the slaves. They can't flee the factory fast enough, save for those who would rather remain in bondage.
Liars naturally fear the guy who will open a door anyway, because reality instantly negates (supersedes, trumps) the workings of propaganda machines.
And God said, "Let there be light". And there was light.
If you had two job offers, would you take the one that paid the most, or the one that paid the least ?
Just let the market work.
No problem. The market works by going where it gets the best deal, does it not ?
P.S. The only incentive came from the state. There was no federal money involved.
P.P.S. Trump isn’t President yet. He cannot obligate or discharge federal funding to anyone or anything, yet.
SO, let me ask you. What do you think Trump said or offered to Carrier to get them to change their mind ?
Who would the Dems trot out to run against Trump/Pence in 2020? Pocahontas??
What's with the statist mentality? Seriously, this is how many of the left thinks about protecting their precious over-bloated ever-controlling government.
If governments at all levels hadn't gotten so large, over-bloated, massive debt-ridden, over the last 40 to 50 years, that has put a very bad negative squeeze on the private sector, these so called "incentives" would not be needed.
It sucks but I have run in to even conservatives that just can't let go of the statist mentality this leftist culture has tried to indoctrinate us for the last 50 to 100 years.

Obama promised change so he sure changed his promises ;) Did everyone get to keep their doctor?

I think she’s damaged goods. They have to go with someone millennial in 2020 in my opinion, and that person hasn’t stepped to the front yet.
They created Obama. Gave him a Senate seat and with less than 2 years time in government and with no background at all he was suddenly qualified.
Meh, let them blabber. Same with the idiot children on Twitter.
Bannon, who is Trump’s strategist and policy guru, is a hard core believer in economic nationalism to the point that a lot of conservatives are distrustful of him. This isn’t a show, or a con. This is Bannon’s ideology. He laid it out in The Hollywood Report article. He intends to bring manufacturing back to the US. Whether it’s achievable at this point since we’re so far gone, is a big who knows. Make no mistake though, Bannon truly desires to build up the US manufacturing base.
The libs never understand substance. They are just bitter, hateful cows.
9 months? Try 9 years.
This is the real reason the Democrats are so apoplectic over Trump’s victory. He is making small but significant inroads with traditional Dem constituencies, Blacks, Latinos, Jews, LGBTers, blue collar and unionized workers. In other words he’s “muscling in” on their racket. Trump is boldly going where no Republican has gone before.
A few years ago there was a bill floating around Congress proposing that companies that don't outsource get a lower corporate tax rate than those that do. That bill never went anywhere.
I'd have no problem with near zero corporate taxes for companies with a majority of US-generated revenue together with a very high corporate tax rate for outsourcers (pro-rated in such a way that the more your revenue comes from overseas production, the higher the tax). It would serve as both a de facto tariff and as a tax cut for companies that remain in the US.
