Ted Cruz knows what a ‘natural born’ US citizen is. He knows that this nation allowed an ineligible obama serve two terms as US president, thus why not him. Cruz would have had a better chance had he run as a democrat praising Castro.

then why even bother with the election?

Representation is a fire break against the evil that can burn over a pure democracy. Without the EC, Trump would have lost. Resignation is always an option, but it does not take a lot of imagination or examples from history to see how an elector might need to self sacraficially defy the will of the people.

I can see why an elector may not want to cast a vote for a career criminal, when it’s truly a matter of illegal activity.

But doing it because you don’t like his political stand is an opinion with no basis.

Personal bias should not come into it.

However, as he resigned, that was a good move on his part.

Of course, in a country where democracy is instilled in the national ethos, it is natural that any governing party will portray itself as representative of the majority.

But this country is NOT a democracy.

That's what people don't get.

It's a republic with the individual states representing the people who live in them and the Constitution limits the power and the ability of the federal government to interfere with that.

The Electoral college is NOT subverting the *will of the people*.

It's ensuring that smaller, less populated states are not overwhelmed by larger ones and it puts a check on voter fraud.

There’s not a single bit of Scripture that says a candidate must be *Biblically qualified* to be leader.

And reading Scripture, you find some people in leadership positions who God put there for HIS purposes.

God saw fit to allow a system that would enable Trump to be elected president. If that’s what happened, then God must think that somehow, Trump is qualified to accomplish GOD’S purpose for putting him there.

And besides, didn’t a certain someone say that by not respecting the outcome of the election, it was a direct threat to our democracy? Although she did say that when she though she had the election in the bag.

““Cruz to take Scalia’s seat.....PLEASE!!!!!!”

NEVER!!!!

WHY????”

Because he’s proven himself to be a self-serving a$$hole who cannot be trusted. I’d put him right up alongside Romney. Furthermore, he’s an alien who should not have been able to enter the contest for the Presidency, and to give him a seat on the SCOTUS would be about as wrong a move as Trump could make. I’m just hoping that Texas votes him out of the Senate in two years. I may be dumb, but I’m not stupid, I started out very much liking him, but his actions and words changed all of my original perceptions of him. Sorry, NO SALE!
