Good. Let’s hope that sticks. I can think of at least a few from Texas and Oklahoma to take the job.
I’ll trust Trump’s perspective about Ryan.
“We need to win the Senate in 2018 because 2016/2017 were successful in its own right.”
Sure, but I’m betting that President Trump will be successful in his first two years and be rewarded with additional Senate seats. Plus, if that appears to be the case, it will foster primary challengers for some of the real GOPe turds that will be trying again. Primary challengers for Cruz, Flake, Corker, Wicker and Hatch (if he manages to live that long). Just the threat of a challenger might be enough to get them on board the Trump Train.
This will be the decision of President-Elect Trump, as it should be.
If ALL republicans do not learn to work together NOW, the Dems will fracture us, and nothing will be done.
Welcome to Reality 101.
agree, my level of angst for Ryan is equal to Hillaries. Trump must get rid of him.
Correction: a shot across the bow to McConnell that he is next if he doesn’t play by the Constitution’s rules, not Trump’s. I know a lot of us are excited about a Trump presidency. However if he treats the Constitution like toilet then that excitement deserves to go away. So far he looks like the real deal for being the first oath-honest President in a long time. However he’s moving into a swamp so it’s too early to tell. Nevertheless well before November 2018 we should know for sure whether he drained the swamp or it got him.
Ooops I was too fast on the trigger. I meant “if he treats the Constitution like toilet paper then ...”
Flake 50%
Corker 45%
Wicker 28%
Hatch 33%
Yes!
Cruz 97%
Cruz STAYS! He was principled in the Sinate, and didn’t get traction because so many were not. Maybe now, with a Sinate re-focused by the election results, he’ll get a GREAT DEAL more traction. We need all the Conservatism we can get in the Sinate to keep McConnell in check.
ROFL!
I remember Huelskamp (R.-Kansas)!
He’s the dippenheimer too stupid to support CANDIDATE TRUMP in KANSAS so he got primaried!
Remember he said something like he had to first ask his wife if it Okay to support Trump?
~money quote~
Dr. Roger Marshall responded to Huelskamp's Fox News appearance on Facebook, saying:
"Yesterday, on national television, when asked whether or not he will support the Republican nominee in order to defeat Hillary Clinton, Tim Huelskamp said it didn't matter and that he needed to ask his wife. Well, I think it does matter and I don't need to ask my wife before answering: We must do everything we can to defeat Hillary Clinton, who is the most corrupt and liberal public figure of our time. I will support Donald Trump as the Republican nominee."
Thank you for that info.
A voice vote? How does that work? Perhaps a paper ballot would be more of a technological leap. And more accurate perhaps...
In 2018, it's three times -- 23 vs 8, although many of the defends are in Dem states. But if Trump de-rusts MI, WI and PA, all bets are off.
Ditch that traitor bastard. I want loui Gommert!! I don’t want any wobbly crap. This is SCORCHED EARTH!!
Thank you, onyx!
BTT
You are correct. My point was that it would be an opportune time to pick off some of the GOPe deadwood in the Senate. In looking at who the RATS have running, unless Trump is really good at getting things done the first two years, the RATs will be hard to dislodge. The two octogenarians, Hatch and Fineswine will probably step down and be replaced with their “own kind.”
The guy is wrong. I doubt anyone even challenges Ryan.
