My guess is, you won't have to wait long.
Windy Hills area of Jax here. Thankfully not a evacuation area.
Vote trump 2016
When a hurricane is coming, the world becomes very small and elections no longer seem terribly important.
Funny you mention the erc. Seriously...I was just about to post that. Stinks that recon had mechanical issues. Would love to see what the pressure dropped to. Let’s hope the ERC takes time to redevelop a strong inner core be aide of it completes the cycle before land interaction...that’s bad news. However, the wind field is probably going to expand now too.
Glad to hear that, Guenevere.
Thank you so much, and also with you
Those are indeed great pictures. Thanks for the link.

Yes, I’m watching it. Could go either way.
Do you read storm2k? They are all over it.
In Sarasota. Just called my clients in Winter Springs, Arcadia, Wauchula, etc. 40MPH winds so far. 20-30 in Sarasota on 6th floor Long Boat Key.
Anyways, I have a coworker VERY worried about her sister (a millennial idiot) who has two very small children in JAX. They are getting ready to party.
I hope coworker convinces her to leave. They are less than 1000m from the ocean.
As a truss manufacturer in lower Alabama for 25 years, we shipped many systems into Florida. Over the years, the state’s standards improved greatly and inspections became incredibly strict. IIRC, trusses for beachfront properties had to be engineered to withstand 150 or 160 mph winds. I pray their diligence helps save homes.
I remember the flap about them turning away non-union help - some folks are just too stupid to help.
Recon is heading back in.
Been out of communications since 6 am...about to take a break..what’s happening?
We’re on Bayview off Commercial and the winds are pretty light with a little rain.
Category 4 storm, Gov. Scot has called up a couple of thousand more Nat’l Guard troops to assist with evacuation.

ERC in progress. A big one. Looks like it’s happening quickly. Recon heading out.
Thanks for the thread and great info, all! Be safe, Florida FRiends!!!
I'm in Delray Beach, so right in line for a direct hit.
My house is 25 years old, and the building code back then was for 120 MPH ratings. I have an addition that I just built last year, and the code for that was 160 MPH.
I did at least upgrade all our doors/windows in the main house to impact doors/windows.
