Hiya Blam!
Perhaps the mods could move your thread to breaking news. I have a bad feeling about this one. FReegards
I like what you did to the plywood, very nice. We built a new house in 2010, added the Kevlar screens on the patio, installed a 26kW diesel generator (275gal. tank). The whole house is built to the new codes.
Dealing with the boats in another story. The 42’ Post is hauled out, west of Stuart, River Forest Yachting Center, the Dusky will go to Cracker Boys. I’m removing the canvas in the morning, adding fuel for the trip to River Forest.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed, that it goes East!

p.s. we don't really have bunkers in FL. Anything below ground level would have to be a submarine.
North Palm Beach area - just picked up my first cases of water. I was the only one getting water - yet!
I have had a “feeling” about this one for a day or so. A hard rt turn? I saw Wilma do it. I am skeptical, I guess.
Indeed, boats add another dimension to storm prep. We keep ours on the lift with lots of slack in the lines. Works like a charm.
Doing just fine....just getting older.
Yes, historically we've seen storms make a remarkably hard 90º turn. The timing for this one is critical.
Bttt
I survived hits by Camille, Fredrick, Elena, Georges, too many TS to list and was wiped out by Katrina.
My blood boils when some yahoo talks of ‘Super Storm Sandy’. Grrrr!! It was just a tropical storm.
I get my back up when I hear Super Storm Sandy too. It was big but not particularly bad or super.
Glad you’re here nautiNurse... but Oh... God... I hate Hurricane Season...
The lines on this one keep moving west and that’s not good for those of us in Florida...
Godspeed to everyone in Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba and The Bahamas...

Oooo That’s a bigun!
A new Sandy? Will the Obama-Christie bromance revive?
Looks like it’ll bypass us, but hit the Bahamas. Only a couple of models have it drifting into the mainland.
Let’s hope so!
I don’t understand the lack of activity on this thread. This storm will be cataclysmic for someone. I guess FR is just political now?
