For some context on the size of this storm system—the storm center is 400 miles away, and we’ve already had 3.75 inches of rain since this morning. It’s going to be a looooong three days.

Get your boat out.I am not liking the Euro putting the storm on top of our beach house on the East Coast.Stay safe.

That model track would make Labor Day weekend miserable for millions. Just checked the rain gauge...we’re up to 4.9” today and it’s coming down hard.
I've had two consecutive days WITHOUT rain for the first time since I don't know when.(Yesterday & today)
Glad you are having a couple of sunny days. We’re up to 5.67” today, and it’s still coming down hard. Schools and government offices in the Tampa Bay area are closed this afternoon and tomorrow.
Texas has had rain every day for weeks. We are in for a couple of dry days over the weekend but on Monday the rain is back. I don’t mind the rain so much because it is cooler. I will be so glad when summer is over!
I’m anxious for this thing to make the right turn that takes it away from me.
Oh No(((((Hugs)))),we are going to cancel our plans.Hope we don’t get the 80 MPH winds. The shore had a banner summer and will not suffer financially.Again stay safe. Our Hurricane Hunter is on call.Does he go North or South?
What about Hawaii? Two storms taking dead-aim on the Big Island.
Fox News weather guy just said that Hermine’s track has ‘nudged’ a little to the west.
That is interesting. We have all seen the final track for GOM storms historically nudges East. Local weather news showed a tracking model tonight with a distinct eye prior to and during landfall. Yikes.
Just trying to Reason with Hurricane Season.
If I was younger I might listen to Jimmy's "Surfin' in a Hurricane."

Wow! That’s a lot of rain. It’s headed for NC - right over my city (Raleigh) if it stays on this track. We’ll batten down the hatches.....we need the rain but not that much!
Good info—thanks!
Hollingers Island bridge in the pic. I grew up right there and Mom still lives on the other side of the bridge. You can set your clock by the rain.
Things just started firing up in the last 20 mins here at the beach.
I lived on Hamilton Blvd when I was five years old. The ammunition depot was still in operation then...armed marines at the gate, etc.
Looks like an eye is forming.
