Quite true. And of course the banksters bribed Congress to exempt student loans from bankruptcy. I support eliminating that exemption. That would allow those who really will never be able to pay them back some relief (along with the negative consequences of a BK), while not allowing high income deadbeats a free pass.

Home ownership is one of the surest paths to prosperity. In order to promote more home ownership, the government should forgive all mortgage debt obligations before they forgive college loans. With the new money freed up from paying mortgages, families could plow that payment into colleges or into wind-powered cars. This is fun - playing Santa with other peoples property.

Only a "progressive" would think that it is a good idea to have the IRS extort tax money from middle income taxpayers who couldn't
afford college themselves and use it to give the Millenials and Snowflakes and democrat victim groups a free ride through college.
