Whites forgive the sins of the past and don’t pass forward tribal resentment and hate to their children. Christian influence...
If whites did hold on to and list tribal offences, blacks would be in trouble.
There is a difference between “Christian influence” and gospel belief, however. “A form of religion but denying its power” has a way of reaping disappointment. One tries to live Christian ideals without the actual power of God. That works about as well as donning a Superman costume and thinking that it will make you fly when you jump off a roof.
I truly believe that a deep gospel understanding would allow a lot of white folks to be able to understand how large groups of other races do think on a tribal basis, but to then put a gospel “spin” on the relationship. Just because the devil used something God created (tribes) for evil, doesn’t mean God cannot use them for good.
