Publius Herennius Dexippus or Dexippos was born about A.D. 210, according to the article about him by Rudolf Hanslik in Der Kleine Pauly. He was a member of the Athenian family of the Kerykes (Heralds), so from of very elite ancestry. He was "agonothete" at the Panathenaea of A.D. 262, then eponymous archon. He fought against the Heruli in 267. He wrote a history in 12 books from the earliest times to A.D. 269/70. He appears to have imitated Thucydides.

Hey, excellent ping list name idea, but I’m not runnin’ it, da**it! If this is a new topic, I will say, I think we had a topic about this a month or so ago. Adding, not pinging, probably. Thanks Pollster1.
