Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.), meanwhile, subordinated his past honorable service as a Marine officer to party politics with the following statement. "I carried guns every day in Iraq, guns very similar to the ones used to perpetrate the Orlando murders and many other mass shootings in America." As shown above, it is absolutely illegal for a private citizen to acquire fully automatic firearms like the ones Moulton carried in Iraq without a background check and a federal permit.
Reid's and Moulton's deliberate obfuscation of semiautomatic rifles and assault rifles is entirely consistent with the Violence Policy Center's openly stated agenda to deceive the American public, and with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt money in the bargain.
The second amendment is to protect against a tyrannical government. I should be allowed to posess and carry anything a US soldier is issued. Period.
Would I want a full auto rifle? No. They are notoriously hard to fire and hold on target. But that is beside the point. The second amendment is absolute. It does not give a right to keep and bear arms except (fill in the blank)
We should as a citizenry be able to match our government troops in fire power.
If he was a Sr Officer it is highly unlikely he carried anything other than a 9mm side arm
Keep and Bear arms is about overthrowing the govt.
The purpose of the 2nd Amendment is to ensure that the average citizen can be an effective member of a militia to protect the COUNTRY and not just themselves. From threats both foreign and domestic.
Where in the Amendment does it say that citizens should only be allowed weapons inferior to potential invaders ? How could any militia be effective if they were outgunned ? To deny the average citizen automatic weapons, or, yes, even a bazooka or rocket launcher or tank, is to deny the 2nd Amendment has any value.
